Isnt' the abnormal more interesting, more dynamic, more worthy, almost, than the normal???

My husband and I have an astronaut friend with whom we regularly argue on everything from politics and the state of the world to mental health and whether Isaac Newton had a personality disorder....anyone know? This astronaut is funny, claiming he is "normal." First off, "normal" is probably the same as "average," something this guy is definitely NOT - his IQ is probably in the top 99th percentile, he is one of very few - 300 or so - humans who have actually orbited the Earth - and his drive is insanely unique - this guy reads physics textbooks in the toilet, for entertainment! This guy has grand ambitions, like changing the national view of science, changing the curriculum in this country, creating more of a science culture in Canada. I posit that it is the abnormal who make life interesting, who move the world, shake things up, with their unique vision and sensitivity...I am working on a documentary tv series to prove it! what do you all think? |
