I always thought those things were supposed to last forever. Ah well. It fried itself when it clogged and overflowed into the circuits or something.

For those of you who have been wondering where I am, I thought you at least deserved an update

I have been doing my geeky thing. There was a convention last Saturday for everything!! Anime, Star Trek, Fantasy and Sci-fi authors signing books, my gaming group had a table, Renaissance erm, players, of a sort. Compare it to a boffer LARP and then give 'em more realistic weapons, real armor and a more family-oriented event. They have a practice coming up and I think I'd like to go!

Anyway. My newest geek fad is Magic: The Gathering. For those of you who don't know, Magic is a collectable card game (CCG) and vaguely resembles Dungeons and Dragons, which is why I play it. Instead of building a deck and really playing, I actually am enjoying collecting and sorting more. For some reason, building my card database, and sorting all my cards, alphabetically, was very soothing and made me relax.

On top of that I've been inspired. After speaking to a couple of authors at Fantasci, I got an answer that made me re-examine something. Apparently, pretty much all authors think their work sucks before they send it in. To quote one (I will not name names) "The more they stink, the more they sell!" Which is hilarious. I can recall a story about a certain author writing under a nom-de-plume on a bet to write a story so bad, it couldn't get published. Not only did it get published, but there's a series! (It isn't even half bad)

So, I decided to sit back down, take a look at stories I've written. I created a whole new world from scratch, because I wasn't happy with the one I had, etc and so on. Its been a lot of work. One short story is in the editing process, and one is being written.

My biggest problem is the fact that magazines are probably my best best for short stories, right? I'm having a helluva time getting them short enough!! 3,000 words is a lot shorter than you'd think!

Ah well, that's my update, thank you all. I find that my desire to blog drops drastically when I spend all day typing or writing on a story, so I may not post quite as often, but will try to keep updated.

It at least sounds like you are keeping busy and that is always a good thing.
