I'm back to spending an evening with the Stones. I'm horrible with gifts, you see; once I buy them I want to give them... and though k's bday is Sat her gifts came today so we've been listening to the remastered Some Girls disc which happens to have one of my all time favorite RS songs on it; one of my top ten favorite songs ever really-- Beast of Burden. And now I stuck on a loop of Stones on youu tuube, looking at Mick singing live before I was born, right now Paint it Black Here's the thing about Mick straight men and all women who have never seen him perform live never get-- the man is pure charisma; one of a kind, sex on a stick, bury those fucking lips in my cunt kind of guy. My k (who has seen the Stones 37 times) likes to tell a story of one particular concert, circa late 70s maybe early 80s? In an outdoor stadium in Texas somewhere; lightening in the sky and under flash flood conditions, rain pelting down and then then the lights come up to "Please allow me to introduce myself.... I'm a man of wealth of fame." Thousands of eyes paying homage to the man. Fucking hell. Panties off to Mick. Are you ready to be what you were born to be.... with a big spicy dollop of sauce? |

Happy birthday to your wonderful k. xx  I watched a c.1965 interview with Mick on the choob a couple of days ago, where he talked about a US tour (their first, perhaps). Fuck, talk about charisma oozin' off the screen. And what struck me also was how much John Lydon (his younger self being pretty charismatic) may have copped off Jagger, cocky & subversive-charm-to-camera wise. Template material.

I listen to the Stones Gimme Shelter as the last thing I do before heading upstairs to bed every night. Once the first licks (of Keith's awesome intro solo) begin my two dogs head right to the stairs knowing it is bedtime. Then I wonder why I can't fall asleep easily? Well duuuhhhhhh, this song gets my adrenaline spiking, perhaps Enya would be more appropriate?
