I think I prefer understanding others to ensuring that others understand Me.

How cool is it to hone comprehension skills and learn stuff?

Let's just say that I feel it's hard to learn anything by talking - listening just seems more - effective.

My family ran a funeral parlor when I was a kid. Once, a dead man had a reflex, which I gather can be fairly common, and simply juddered.

Another time, it breathed *Huhhhhhh* when Unc and his employee shifted a body. Both times, My bowels nearly moved. I never went downstairs again after the *Huhhhhhh*.

I prefer NOT view remains alone in close quarters, a small viewing room, in someone’s living room, etc.

I've never recovered; I still see dead bodies' chests rising and falling. I know they're not, of course - I dislike them because they change. Death changes them from 'persons' into ‘things’--No one is At Home in there... (“Where ARE you?”)...

I don’t have a relationship or connection/bond with anyone that is dead. I see nothing dignified in death—Merciful? Sometimes. Peaceful? I suppose—In a better place?
Don't start ME to making shit up.
Noble or dignified? No. Not seeing that, yet.

And oh, though I know intellectually that the dead don't live again as meat and bone--in My gut, I ALSO know that as long as I keep My Eye on them and refuse to be alone with them, they won't (get up and carry on and Shit) jitter, jive, writhe around or sigh. Ugh. It’s just wrong.

(Unless the practice has changed,) the amount of cotton embalmers stuff into body orifices of the dead defies comprehension and reason. Well...what's in them DOES need to stay. So, I get it.

I will be cremated after (viable) organ harvest; this is written, verbally shared, legally binding, paid for and non-negotiable

I will try self-hypnosis to rid myself of this corpse phobia. I’ll take note the next time I'm around one. Wish Me luck.

I seem to have a predisposition against inflexible, nastily-opinionated, or self-centered women - and men — maybe because you, like Me, without a shred of doubt also know that

people can be self-assured, non-doormat, no-shit-takers and NOT to be offensive, nasty, or obnoxious at the same time. Which Reminds Me...

I like using ball gags on women. The drool, the slobbering moves, touches Me—not nearly as much as the progression of tears, hitches, crying and shout-screaming does— even so, moved & inspired.

Would I mind: If you farted/pussy-farted during orgasm? Nah.
If you didn’t bathe? Well now...natural & clean is divine. Too long Unwashed in areas that don’t see sunshine? Hell.

Women who treasure inventive thought, that think outside the cube of ordinariness/the status quo, and who crave exploration or change, have enchanted Me since I was a teen. Still do

I like having women consent to do things that, while not harmful, do straddle or exist just a hair outside their comfort zones; in other words, things they're not into, but would try it a time or two if I wanted...

Well, I live in Indiana, but I'm sure lost here, Doc. A link to a post about movies, and also in this post, a pic of a vagina and cervix, plus observations about dead bodies and fear of corpses and scattered comments about offensive people and various odd little sexual comments. Maybe I need to hone my own comprehension skills? lol

Understood baby. As the title says, anything in these posts (Things)can be unrelated/unbound by any common theme...they're just Things.

Imagine Me
standing by a metaphorical Mental Stream of Consciousness,
spearing randomly into it, and

pulling out and examining whatever 'thought-fish' I happened to skewer...

Just

Things.

Your comprehension is working just fine sarah....

The random momentary thoughts... that flash through ones mind .. as words collide.. a tangent.. springs to mind...

"the wise old owl, lived in an oak....
the more he saw the less he spoke....
the less he spoke.. the more he heard...
Now .. why aren't we all like that.. wise.. old.. bird..."

.. have to agree Doc.. listening is very effective...

OF COURSE YOU ARE RIGHT DOC BUT IF YOU ONLY TALK YOU WILL NOT LEARN AND IF YOU ONLY LISTEN YOU WILL ONLY THINK YOU KNOW WHAT YOU THINK YOU HAVE LEARNED. IT IS WELL WORTH CHECKING OUT TO SEE IF OUR PERCEPTIONS AND OUR UNDERSTANDING IS ACTUALLY ACCURATE.

It is amazing what people will tell you after you self disclose to them. I am reminded of a time back in the mid 1970's when faced with a 12 hr drive

a friend said "what are we going to talk about for the next 12 hrs" and

I said " Oh just tell me about your sexual fantasies."

She said "I would rather die than tell you about my sexual fantasies."

So I said "Alright then I will tell you about some of mine."

After I told her a few of mine she concluded that I would not judge her for her bestiality fantasies and she told me that since she was in her early teens she had had fantasies about having sex with dogs.
As far as I know I am the only person on the planet that she told about them.
It made for a very interesting drive.

HAVE YOUR SAY, I HAVE HAD MINE

Yes Brent...
We can get to learning stuff by talking/asking/engaging, but as u say, the actual learning is us listening to the amazing things others will share...

And doesn't it take courage for ppl to share anything they fear will make us judge them negatively...

I didn't get lost reading this post; rather, I very soon stopped expecting each item to connect with the others, for you've given us a miscellany.

The item that really hit home with me was "Death changes them from 'persons' into ‘things’--No one is At Home in there... (“Where ARE you?”)..." I was with my mother at the moment she died, and I was a witness to what you say. At one moment she was my mother, the person I loved incredibly much but who was suffering, and the next moment she was not.

And I almost wish I hadn't chosen to tell you this, for telling it brought it back too vividly, and I've just finished wiping the tears that the memory brought.
