I Love My Car... or Let It Snow, Let It Snow, Let It Snow!

I know that in this time of the downfall of the US automotive industry, it is probably politically incorrect to say this but I don't give a tiny rat's ass. I LOVE MY CAR! It is a Subaru Forester. It is my second Forester. Having headed to mid-coast/Southern California last fall before the snow started, it has been a couple years since I have had the joy of driving in the snow. The last couple of days have brought a fair amount of snow to Connecticut. I was out yesterday and again today. The roads were shitty. My car has great handling and stopping abilities in this stuff. Foresters come standard with All-Wheel drive and anti-lock brakes. I'm not sure but I don't think there is one US car maker that can say they offer a product in which that is the case. They want to point fingers at the UAW to say that it is their fault that they have gotten into this financial mess. But in all actuality, I think it is much more that the auto makers have been too interested in developing vehicles that help to line the pockets of their buddies at the oil companies. Perhaps they should change their focus just a bit. My Subaru certainly cannot be considered a green car, but the gas mileage isn't bad. I can fit my stuff in it and it goes like a tank in the snow.
