Seriously what does Christmas have to do with Jesus?

I am watching the Christmas shopping specials cpmmercials. listrnng to the Christmas music, and unless I'm missing something, I'm not hearing a thing about Jesus Christ

Of the Christmas decoration on the so-called Christmas Trees I've seen so far. none of them images of Jesus Christ on them...

Oh, and those Christmas Parades? How many of them have floats that have anything to do with the life and times of Jesus Christ.

Holiday means Holy Day and there doesn't seem to by anything Holy about December 25th - how many so-called Christians will be going to church ON Christmas.

Christmas means mass of Christmas, c'mon Protestants, most of "you" won't be going to mass that that day, not to mention that Jesus Christ was NOT born on December 25th.

Don't you need another excuse to "pig out". demand gifts, and go into debt then a daty that the Roman Catholics chose to honor Jesus Christ?

Only the evergreen they use for the
Christmas tree is real.

That is why A Charlie Brown Christmas is my special, even back in the 60's someone took the time to call out what was happening. I do have my Charlie Brown tree up already.

    Quoting ResistiDominum:
Too bad that all the non Christians don't understand that Jesus is the reason for the season. It is a celebration of His immaculate conception and birth in Bethlehem. If you don't believe in Jesus you should not even recognize this season. Good for you for pointing this out, I am glad that I am not the only outspoken Christ lover in this community.
On the other hand, I think people who get upset that people who get upset because somebody says/or does not say "Merry Christmas" need to "get over themselves".

The best way to prove that "we" are Christians is not by the holidays we observe, ot he words we mindlessly intone. We prove we Christians by how we treat other people, including the ones we wouldn't spend the time of day on. "love thy neighbor as thyself " ought to ring a bell.

Are you surprised that so many people here are taking the opposite stand? Im not. Finding balance between heart, soul and sex is hard enough normally. Throw kink in the mix...........YIKES!

Add the internet? lol fuggedaboudit!

Can you imagine the sense of responsibility and accountability that would have to come into play if all the narcissists, cheating spouses, liars, users, and thieves that thrive in the online environment were cognizant of someone not only knowing but also disapproving of what they are doing? And then knowing they will be held accountable? Hell, this place would fall apart from the mass exodus if it ever existed at all.

I find it ironic that even atheists need to believe in something. They just pick and chose what suits them best, be it themselves, money or a goddess who lives in a tree(that you still cant see or prove.Hello..reality check!) so why its wrong to have faith in the one called God, but okay to believe in the God of wind and earthworms is amusing to me.
Sad.........but amusing.

Almost as amusing as figuring out how/why pointing out the solstice being celebrated before Christs birth makes his birth less relevant or a reason to celebrate.

My great grandma rode a horse to the store before cars came to be, but Ill be dammed if I'll trade in my car or pretend they dont exist just because horses were here first.
