Blimey! May parents had that very album (I recognise the sleeve; even as I child Iw as rather caught by that saucy minx in the tennis shorts!) They saw the show in the West End of London and came back with the record. They loved it (though having just checked a few of the numbers from the show, I can't think why! It sounds ghastly!)

I share your dim view!

I never knew about this show. Must not have been produced much in the US.

I wonder if other songs from the Rock and Roll period (which we are still in) in effect made reference to this song's lyrics. I know there is one Rock song with reference to Salad Days. If anyone reading this thinks of any Rock era songs using the words salad days in it, please post here and in my blog.
