(posted for MissLisaRenee from ALT) The next Greater Omaha Area Slosh is scheduled for Saturday, November 11, 2006. This might just be the last Slosh for this year. I would like to take a moment to mention a few things regarding the Slosh and attendance these last few months. For those that might be unaware, we have the place to ourselves for the most part until 9 PM. And even though this venue is "downtown", it has its own parking lot. The Slosh has been seeing a lot of new faces of late. I mentioned in my last reminder that we had eight new people in September. Guess what? Not only did over half of those September Slosh "Newbies" return for October's Slosh, but there were about forty attendees total this month -- including about a dozen (that's right twelve!) new people! Did anyone happen to catch the name of the hunky blond-ish fellow in the dark leather coat near the door? He stepped out before I had an opportunity to greet him and I just hate to see the "shy" ones get left "behind"! I was very happy to see some faces that have not been at a Slosh in a long while as well as excited to see many of the "regulars" return. I hope that everyone enjoys the social aspect of the Slosh and continues to use it constructively in meeting other like minded folk in our community. It is also a great opportunity for people to share information regarding other events and groups in our area and else-where. Please see the end of this message for further information on other groups activities local and beyond. We will again be meeting at the Sam & Louie's Pizzeria on 24th & Cuming (across from Creighton, in the strip mall on the NW corner, behind the McDonalds). The Slosh will officially begin at 7:00 PM and will go as late as any are interested. This particular venue will again be having live music (I believe it will be the same jazz/blues ensemble as last month's) which will be starting around 9 PM. Did I mention that last month we had TWELVE new people join us?! Keep 'em coming! Now the usual disclaimers and warnings: The Slosh tends to be fairly informal with attendance averaging anywhere from 25 to 50 people. We have had as few as ten though too--anything can happen. If you are new, please be brave: walk right in and say, "Hello!" Don't be shy! We usually have at least one new person each Slosh. We are a pretty friendly bunch and will be very glad to have you join us. Please remember that this is a casual get-together held in a public "vanilla" venue; therefore, remember that when choosing your dress for the evening. There will be absolutely no fetish wear allowed. The Slosh is an evening munch, typically held at a restaurant / bar in the Omaha area. As it has been for years, it is hosted on the second Saturday of the month about nine (9) times a year. That works out to a little more often than every other month. It is a casual get to know each other type of meet and greet that is open to any and all who have a sincere interest in the D/s and/or BDSM lifestyle. The Slosh is strictly for social purposes only; although there are usually announcements and information regarding other upcoming lifestyle events. There is no agenda, no leadership, no demos, no dues, and no requirements. It's just a super way to have an opportunity to meet other like-minded folks and learn more about the scene in the surrounding areas. We do ask that people donate a buck or two to help compensate the staff and/or the house. Feel free to forward this to other D/s or BDSM interested individuals or groups [in the Omaha and surrounding areas] that might wish to attend or are open to posting this and other Slosh notices. If you are an organizer for an [area] group/event for which you would like reciprocity in getting the word out, please email me. Remember: ALL are welcome! I look forward to seeing you soon! Take care & be well! Miss Lisa Renee For information on other groups in Kansas, Iowa, Missouri, Oklahoma, and Northern Texas, please contact me at GOSlosh via google mail. |
