Refers to self induced strangling or suffocation during masturbation. This is estimated to take the lives of 250 to 1000 people (usually men) every year. Very little is known about people who practice asphyxia, because most do not seek therapy, and do not otherwise come to the attention of the medical profession unless they die. Parents have recently become more aware of young adults having a fascination with this practice, and it goes by Space Monkey and/or Dying Game. People have different reasons for engaging in this activity, and most can only be guessed at because most cases are only learned of after the victims death. It IS known that asphyxiation itself creates excitement and eventual euphoria, because of the adrenaline produced when the body perceives a life threatening condition. Suffocation also causes light-headedness. CAUTION: Auto erotic asphyxiation is of particular concern because of the frequency of death associated with it. PLEASE PLAY SAFE, SANE & CONSENSUALLY.
