Obstacles

Why does it feel like there are always so many obstacles when finding the one for you (on this site)? It seems it's always something...lol. Sometimes the distance, scheduling, being a parent all plays a role in missed opportunities. Sometimes, I wonder if it is worth it to forge ahead. Has anyone experienced the same? Do you ever feel like giving up? | ||

..and sometimes it is just the way we make sure we did all it takes to make that person knows that we are as interested as they are. People come and go into our lives, and since this search is difficult, usually we naturally tend to follow up with those who are the most constant. For example, those who are there in our mailbox on a regular basis. If someone we had met earlier doesn't "show up" as constantly, then we are more drawn to change the order of priorities and give more attention to the constant one. i once "met" someone quite interesting on this site. Since my schedule didn't allow me to often chit-chat online, i did and do value email exchange. But i noticed that this person wasn't often online when i was, and never about to send out emails, or respond to an offline i.m i sent - when email exchange is about all we have in this virtual world... SO my conclusion was: that person is either not interested, or not serious... Now there is a chance that i might have been wrong, and that both of us went on saying "oh..too many non-serious people"...Morale of the story: communication is very important - we cannot just guess a perfect stranger's thoughts..
