I'm in an airport, laying over in PDX on my way to ORD. I'm on my way to teach a class about a type of play that many people find repulsive, disturbing, horriffic, indicative of psychological damage and self-hatred, and one that shouldn't ever happen. But I teach this class PRECISELY BECAUSE it is so problematic. I've been on the wrong side of vitriolic attacks, and still I live. So I know that they won't kill me. But I am, perhaps foolishly, always so discouraged when I see kinky people making harsh statements against harmless kinks. I'm sad when I see a condescending "Protect the newbies!" attitude about Edgy Play. And I absolutely abhor the use of the word "sick" to describe a desire that does no harm. And I am reminded that not everyone understands the power of sexual imagination, and makes the wildly erroneous assumption that, for example, wanting to stick a crazily shaped dildo into various orifii puts someone one step away from sheepfucking and in the next cell from a raging pedo. Now excuse me. I gotta go to Chicago and have a white guy beat my ass and utilize racially charged language for the sake of our twisted fucking libidos, because, of course, I love non-consesnual slavery and he is a closet racist. Aww sweetie - you're not sick.... just twisted  And, I'll do a race-play scene with you anytime you need a top to step up for your demo (Well, and that I'm in the right town). What's great about what you're doing is challenging people to think. It's an attack on complacency and moreover, it makes people question all their own standards. Can a person of jewish descent fantasize about a concentration camp scene or is it wrong? Can a person descended from slaves fantasize about being one or is it wrong? Can a person who's been abused by a spouse find pleasure in being spanked by a dominant? There are no great answers but these questions make you confront if you are really an open and accepting person or if your own personal standards are what you expect others to live by. I very seriously doubt you could think of anything that I would say is too sick. It may not be my kink but, I think everyone should be able to enjoy their kinks the way they want to. The only part about the night that sucked was when I had to leave... Fantastic class! I just really wish I was able to stick around and talk more. It was a complete pleasure to meet you finally. It brought me one step closer to my goal... I only have one more person left to meet from alt blogs. I hope that Chicago was good to you as well; I know you were good to us and you even brought in some fantastic weather! ~R bite me... I like it.
