well it is always great when people can talk about more than just kink. But you also have to remember that you were at a munch.

To me..a munch is more of a get to know you as a person than a hookup or talking about shop. It's getting your face out in the community and getting to know everyone.
So the munches I've been to had very little to do with kink ( it also didn't help that we had it at a denny's)

Perhaps your experiences at these munches were different?

I agree. I have met with a bunch of our bloggers and most are pretty cool pervs. Our conversations run from vanilla mild to BDSM wild and back, regardless of their gender or preferred side of the slash. I consider myself fortunate to have had the opportunity to meet them face to face and to be able to call them my friends.

For me, the ability to have intelligent conversation and just enjoy being with someone is a prerequisite to anything else. I don't have to agree with someone to like them, but if I find them boring then.. It's a deal breaker.
I think this - the ability to discuss everything under the sun - is one of the reasons Soph and I are so well matched. If she had a great ass but was as dumb as a doorpost I'd have lost interest a long time ago.
