Your personal story made me achingly sad for all involved. I know we humans are capable of being noble, but sometimes we very ignoble, hurting the very people with whom we are supposed to be working together it, but abusing and misusing them, and others who we are called to protect, and yet doing heinous things to them as well.

What I also found sad was how a person is degraded of human dignity and found the only way out to make something ourself is the military. Doesn't that also seem degrading that those less than, make it there.

It just is an overall sad picture, 2ndtime, and I am not suer there is an easy soluton, but things cannot improve, if they are not exposed and addressed.

Very thought provoking post. I can see why you had difficulty with the censorship police. White supremacists scare the crap out of me and to think that many are involved in the military is nothing new to me but is nonetheless very hard to digest.

My former Dom served in Desert Storm and looking back on it, I often wonder if he was a closet supremacist due to a lot of things that happened while we were together. He just knew too much about how the movement worked and also owned a copy of The Turner Diaries. Just out of curiosity on what it was all about of course.

Great post

Very beautiful read and I almost imagined you to be one to turn a blind eye to these things. I personally hate criminals get to keep their pensions.

I am aroused by my own darkness and there is no cure.

So we both make typos. Unfortunately, in my line of work that is such a huge no no. LOL.

I clicked on a couple of the links, they worked, but I did not click on all of them.

2ndtime posted a reasoned, and well-researched set of examples and in turn it has been greeted with responses that are of the "it's mine and you can't have it" variety. Childish bullshit as usual. Look at the articles on domestic violence in the military (where reported rates are not any higher than in the general populace, btw) and you see that a common theme is the perpetuation of that violence because of the attempts to keep it hidden by the institution. Like any institution we need to be consistent in how we apply our judgments. We need to avoid precipitancy of any kind and focus instead on the evidence.

--Who greeted it with such responses? His examples were excellent and true.

That which does not bear scrutiny does not deserve our respect, and further we should be on guard against such things for they are often the source of the greatest evils.

"I don't just take anyone's word for what's published. I think there's a lot of value in having multiple sources and more than one line of corroboration on stuff like this."

Nods.
