Well, I did see that outfit on an Iggy Pop display, the tongue n hands in the KISS area( thanks Gene!) and the hairdo on a Madonna display there, so all in all, lol it kinda works.

Sort of.

Sometimes I make a move, sorry to leave my home, but hope I will find another of equal character.
At night I gaze at the starry mass with no idea to which one the earth attached.
May'be that cute little one over there or that one that sits alone in the inky black

It's just wrong.

If it were Patty Smith, I would pray that she would spit on her (Patty on Miley- not vice versa).

Henry Rollins will always be my own true love.

Neither Black Flag nor Henry Rollins are in- I could only imagine what he would say if approached.

He did a really cool writing contribution on the Cleveland Punk Scene and surprisingly gave credit to Devo who I would have thought a little mainstream for him but he made some interesting points.

But I would love to hear his reaction if someone ever walked up to him and said, "hey, did you hear the news? You just got inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, and Justin Beiber is going to introduce you!"

Mainstream- I had to pay money to see them at a concert arena? I ain't talkin' like a bazillion dollars a ticket back in 1978ish but still, it was like 5 bucks and they actually did a "performance art" kinda show which was really cool- plus, they did make it into the initial Heavy Metal movie (Working in a Coal Mine). It was like when I saw the Talking Heads and the B-52's (not at the same time) but in both cases, it was concert hall with art performance rather than just guitar jamming, bad drumming and not barroom hang smashing scene like the first time I saw Black Flag on 4th St. Ave in Tucson and walked out drenched in the sweat of not just myself but everyone else's as well.

I guess using mainstream as to how and where I saw the band vs. radio play or list chart. I am not sure (and not gogglin') to see where Patty Smith ever showed up on the charts but I loved her from the first time I saw her on Saturday Night Live which to me, puts her into a "mainstream" kinda category. Like when Meatloaf said, I don't write songs for radio play but yet, he was showing up everywhere including Saturday Night Live as well.

Not sure if Black Flag ever played that Television Program but when Belushi was snorting cocaine, SNL brought in some really good music sometimes.

So, for the record, I use mainstream as merely the fact of the location of where I saw them and the exposure that I think that they got. For example, the band Trust was in the initial Heavy Metal movie but who all actually knew that they were really a French Heavy Metal band before that film actually came out?

Maybe mainstream attention- I don't know- maybe you know better what word it is that I am looking for. Maybe I assume that because I have heard of a band, that everyone else has too, hence I understand why Henry Rollins idolizes Iggy Pop because neither of them really care if people really know who they are or not.

Thanks, I hadn't heard that one. I like a couple of the meter tricks. But then I always like bands that do cool things with meter. After that I watched the live on Kirshner clip, I'd never heard them do Secret Agent Man

And now for something completely different; one interesting arrangement deserves another. This one's played strictly for laughs. hee-hee I haven't had a TV for a while so I didn't know this is a somewhat regular bit. watch?v=UD8tGWIqA-c

Wow I've really hijacked this from the RRHoF chat.
