In ancient times ... a king had a boulder placed on a roadway. Then he hid himself and watched to see if anyone would remove the huge rock. Some of the king's wealthiest merchants and courtiers came by and simply walked around it. Many loudly blamed the king for not keeping the roads clear - but none did anything about getting the stone out of the way. Then one day, a peasant came along carrying a load of vegetables. On approaching the boulder, the peasant laid down his burden and tried to move the stone to the side of the road. After much pushing and straining he finally succeeded. As the peasant picked up his load of vegetables, he noticed a purse lying in the road where the boulder had been. The purse contained many gold coins and a note from the king indicating that the gold was for the person who removed the boulder from the roadway. That day, the peasant learned what many others never understood making him far wealthier than any other in the land. The point being every obstacle presents an opportunity to improve ones condition. You have the power to move forward no matter what setback or obstacles block your path. You have the power to live true to your highest vision of how your life can be. You have the power to follow and reach your dreams. We all have this power because we have the choice. In each moment we can choose, independent of all other factors what we think, what we say, and even how we will endure even the most uncertain and difficult situations. We can choose to be optimistic, we can choose to feel hopeful. We can choose to surround ourselves with those who love and care for us. In the words of the well known Yoda ... Do or Do not, there is no try. |

Yes the outcome of any situations is determined by the decisions you make. You always have the control regardless of the stimulus!

Miss, May this lowly one point out what may be a missed point in your story? I would point out that all that traveled the path over came the obstacle the King placed in their way. They simply walked around the boulder, except for the pleasant. And I would suggest that the pleasant did not learn the lesson you point out. For he did not look to improve his condition by removing the rock. The pleasant did not know there would be treasure under this obstacle. The pleasant did an unselfish act for his fellow travelers without thought of recognition (for who would have known) nor thought of reward (he did not know he would receive riches. May another lesson be learned here if I am right? Now, that is not to say that all you stated in the last two paragraphs is not true. For I believe those points are true and agree with you, just not being illustrated by the story. I would thank you for making those illumination in the last two paragraphs. And ask forgiveness if I was rude to make my comment. I meant no criticism. Bows to the Lady of the Blog
