All great songs, but I took them for granted and gave them very little thought until reading this. Thanks for sharing. I'll have to go back and give another listen. Good luck with your own naked singing.

I'm very glad I gave you cause to give a new look to some Lennon/McCartney songs.

Thanks for visiting.

Cliff Notes

In case my writing above is too obscure:
1)A key lyric of John's HIAWG shows up later as the main plea in a Paul song.
2)A key lyric in John's DLMD shows up later as a secondary plea in a Paul song.
3)The person Paul will never do harm to, who Paul will never let down, on The Beatles' final album, tells Paul that he/she doesn't need him anymore.

It's often easier with a program.

    Quoting Cheerfulltwo:
Half of all Lennon / McCartney songs begin with You or Your.
    But not these.

i have a copy of the biography by Bob Spitz. i should probably read it. And am amazed at the detailed knowledge you draw upon writing this. Pondering something relevant and original to say about the photos, i can only come up with the fact that they palpably show the love between the two after one has read this. They almost seem like before and after...

Then there is naked singing. Makes me wonder what your voice sounds like.

I quote John Lennon, "I don't believe in Beatles, I just believe in me." Good point there. After all, he was the walrus. I could be the walrus. I'd still have to bum rides off people.
That second photo (of them) is stunning to me. I've been reticent to post the last few months, many entombed in the editor. But when I came across that photo, I was compelled to post it. John is so the protective big brother in that, it belies the whole John hated Paul narrative. The first photo of them was taken by Linda, in the studio, when the two of them were sketching out the order of songs for Abbey Road. (Note: for the record "egomaniac" Paul let a John song open the album and a George song start the 2nd side.) You can see, even here in 1969, how pleased John is with Paul - the kid 2 years his junior when they met around 10th grade.

I have one song I've done I've thought of making an ALT video for - it's kinda perfect. If this current song I'm doing turns out, I might do that. Cuz, yunno, you always need a followup single.

Thanks for visiting (and faithfully posting).

Oh! Now there's another photo. Are those actual gun barrels? They must be...

i'm not sure i get the alliterative sub-headline, but now i'm thinking of Chuck Connors. Are you a gun connoisseur?
That first photo is an actual magazine cover that was in Abbey Road studios in the lobby. John saw it and wrote the song. He sexualized the gun thing beautifully. Again, surprised an ALT audience (not necessarily you, but in general) isn't more all over that.

"She's well acquainted with the touch of the velvet hand ... "

Also, listen for Paul's background vocal during the "Happiness ... is a warm gun " section. hee hee ...
