What do marches really accomplish?

I was curious as to why people march? and is their message ever really heard.

Someone replied that I didn't criticize the million man march the other day ( hmm which was odd considering I wasn't criticizing the women's march in my blog).
I just pondered what's next. And what is the point of a march if there is nothing next?

I can think of a few examples of protest/marches/sit ins etc that got alot of media attention but in the end solved nothing.

Operation occupy wallstreet: and it's purpose was what exactly? oh yes something about income equality and fat cat bankers. ( which ofcourse spurned future activist to "occupy their local highschools or something equally lame). Hell I remember "occupying" my lazy boy recliner that summer.

And what did it become? it turned into a miss mash of various groups that just wanted to camp out. Did it do anything about income equality in america? Nope! winter came and NYC etc finally cracked down and told these people to go the fuck home. By this time even the viewing public got tired of seeing dirty college students "making demands".

Million Man march: does anyone even remember this one? black men marched on wash dc for their iconic photo opp... I remember Jessie Jackson telling black men to just "get on the bus!"
and then what? They went home. ( and ofcourse Jessie J went on to race bait and shake down corporate america..just google Jessie and the cocacola corp..yep he got his the ownership of a few coke distributors to shut his mouth
..so now all future protestors feel the need to get the same photo opp...and they call it historical???

Even worse is when they want to compare attendance numbers..hell I though comparing one's size was just a male thing..seems like the woman's march was only interested in " having a bigger dick " than the trump inauguration crowd.

So these men marched and what changed for the black community? Did black men suddenly become better fathers? Did black on black crime suddenly stop? ( er not in kc we reached a new homicide record this year)

The ferguson riots...white cop shot black ( who was reaching into his car to assault him)..so the black community decides to protest/riot...they start to burn things etc.

and what became of that...big box stores are scared shitless to move into that community/nothing got rebuild/the economy of the area didn't improve/crime/poverty is at an all time high..

and yes police continued to be overtly aggressive towards black teens

I want to say the only "successful " protest are ones where the powers that be roll over to these groups. Like "black lives matters"...look how it's members just went up to the podium of various groups and political leaders and took the mic. ( if I did that to bernie sanders, I'd have my arms ripped off by the FB

Hell the dem party even invented them to the convention. But then again when was the last time you heard of "black lives matters " in the news...
and yeah...who leads them again???

The university of Missouri had a similar protest where students made demands and the idiots in charge just resigned ( you know damn well they must of had golden parachutes).
But such actions just embolden protestors..

and in the end it was learned that the guy that started the protest was "spoiler alert"..rich..he is in school to be..spoiler alert.. a political activist.

The fallout? the incoming freshmen number fell way off/ parents didn't want to deal with this nonsense. The protestors made ridiculous demands of the university and little changed. The protest became a joke.

and by now that student moved on to some other "project' to protest about.

My point of this blog is most protest are simply feel good measures.. it reminds me of "run for the cure" or some other charity run or the ice bucket challenge....
In the end it makes people feel good/ they don pink ribbons/perhaps a pussy hat or pour cold water over themselves...but nothing is really solved.
Cancer is still here...trump is still here...nothing has changed.

I think part of the problem is these groups are polarizing...they want it to be an US vs them mentality....black vs white..women vs. men...liberal college students against the establishment.
So they feel hard pressed to reach across the aisle and get other non base people involved in their cause.

Just imagine what the optics would have been if half of the people marching in the 'pussy parade " were men. It seemed like every national photo I saw only contained young pretty white college girls wearing knitted pink hats.
Why? cause they wanted it to seem like this was just a "woman's march"..yet ask anyone and you had men there/ you had there

But in reality to get anything done ( whether that is win an election ( pres/senate or house of rep) one needs to get the other side involved. A lesson Hillary learned the hard way.

Another problem is these protest have to have a clear message and a clear leadership....

So once again I'll ask....what was the real message of the woman's march ( was it reproductive rights? was it equality? was it anti trump? ( can anyone answer this simple question....
Who organized the march/ whose is charge?
Can anyone here answer that question?

and honestly..what's next? if you can't answer the first question or second...then I guess there is no "next".

So please tell me what do marches really accomplish?

Funny that you call my blog an echo chamber. I don't preach to just the choir. Both sides can openly express an opinion. I luv honest discussion
