Men are difficult to understand because our brains are basically different. http://alt.com The problem between men and women is ...we aren't women...when you get angry you expect us to act accordingly. Then get confused when you don't get the desired response. Your male's response of holding you/kissing you ( just a guess here..probably isn't motivated in feeling sorry). It's more like a fall back mechanism of a child. It isn't unusual to see a 3 yr old boy do something wrong and then climb into his mother's arms and claim that he loves her. He's probably been hardwired to act this way around an angry/upset female figure. It might be better to just sit your male down and talk to him about why your upset. Of if your more Dominant in the relationship...it might be better to just spank the hell out of him ( males seem to respond nicely to a pain stimuli)

the problem with women is they don't want a man's input into all of this/they don't want a solution ....they just want us to agree with them/agree that men are stupid and then break out the gallon of ice cream and multiple spoons.
