Every single other woman who also lived through this in one way or the other
and succeeded to be *fully alive* (as you perfectly call it) again
makes me incredibly proud of the strenght many woman have.
(This is not suposed to sound patronizing, but it is very difficult to find the right words in a foreign language)
It takes a lot of courage to share this here. Thank you!

I wish there had been crisis centres here in the 1970th already.

I can't link to it from here but I read the open letter that Tom Meagher wrote about /murders this morning. The title of the letter is "The Danger of the Monster Myth".

He encourages complete and utter outrage against crimes of violence against women. Only then, he says, will the cycle be broken.

I read a report of Daniel Morecambe's death. He was a young boy who was picked up by a twice convicted paedophile who was on parole in Queensland. The pedophile tried to molest Daniel who fought back. Fearful of being identified and sent to prison for life without parole, the paedophile killed him. It turned out that he'd been molesting children since his release.

The perpetrators of violent crime do not change but decent men can change and can spot the misogynists and the and the murderers whether they are team mates, work mates, friends or family.

As Tom says in his letter quoting Maya Angelou"

“history, despite its wrenching pain, cannot be unlived, but if faced with courage, need not be lived again.”

Male self-examination requires this courage, and we cannot end the pattern of men’s violence against women without consciously breaking our silence.

You still have the power to surprise and amaze. A true inspiration.
