Would a humanist say "Oh Mother nature!" and what if they stopped halfway through??? Doesn't bear thinking about.

For the record, I think I say "Oh my fucking Christ!" whick possibly covers several bases!

(If I'm with a member of the aristocracy, I modify to "Oh my goodness!")

As an atheist, I often say "OMG" or "OMFG"!!!

Lol

Weeeeeeell, if ya gonna be hollerin it out to the heavens, who BETTER than to call it out too, no?

Definitely NOT religious at all as it is technically taking Gods name in vain.

Honestly though, Jen has the right of it.
It's a learned habit for a strong feeling(thank you Hollywood and Danielle Steele).

Dont most say the same exact Oh MY GODDDDDDDD!!!!!!!! thing when grief stricken, shocked or really frustrated or angry on a bad day as well long before sexually active? Yep

Sometimes I make a move, sorry to leave my home, but hope I will find another of equal character.

Like Jenny, I'm also an atheist, and I still occasionally blurt out an "Oh, my god" (or a "Bless you" after someone sneezes). It is truly a reflex...the result of being immersed in a largely religious culture.

If there is a god, I truly hope that He/She/It has a thick enough skin to handle the minor indignity of getting His/Her/Its name occasionally bandied about in vain. I don't think I could ever worship a deity who leaves slavery, sexual assault (had this comment denied for using the 4-letter word for that), and bigotry off the Top 10 list in favor of anything as silly as blasphemy.

I new a woman who used to scream "Oh God....baby....baby" and would get pregnant.

She eventually connected the fact that perhaps she was actually making a request to an actual God, and changed her vocalization during orgasm to "Oh God.....Jeep Cheroke, Jeep Cheroke."
