In spring the sap rises...

It's been a while

There was a sense of anticipation

And rising excitement

I knew my stamina would be tested

I was suitably protected, to stay safe

We were quickly going at pace

Sometimes the speed and the rhythm was quick, sometimes slower

In time I'd be breathing hard

And I would be sweaty

The reaction and the response was just like the last time

You felt good under me, you did everything I demanded of you

The burst rubber was unfortunate but we stayed safe

I like riding my bicycle...
