I loved it too and found mister Grey perfect and everything you said about their dynamic. It reminds me of my four months before going to meet Faust all the negotiating we did and me needing to be sure. Although, the terms were so cut and dry, he being master and me slave. But I too had to walk away knowing the long distance and the expenses of travelling there would be to costly. But he was definitely my first mister Grey and I am glad seeing the movie last weekend reminded me of my first time.

I'm glad you saw and liked it.

I am aroused by my own darkness and there is no cure.

When curious do we ever know all of what we get into. That negotiating scene to me was hot and yes, i wished mine was more romantic but the lead submissive tried it and when she wanted more she walked away. Perfect ending really for the dynamic.

I do hope you take a deep breath and not worry so much about what God thinks as I have always said, I feel better knowing that I am up front about me and my needs and I sincerely believe God says, amen, at least I am not harming anyone.

And yes, a mister Grey would be nice for sure but every experience you have should remind you of a mister Grey as you learn about your needs.

I got a kick at how I received two belt lashes as my bf heard the word submissive used in the movie and I bent over begging/giggling, harder, please.

Rock on pretty woman

I am aroused by my own darkness and there is no cure.

I really don't think the BDSM aspects, other than the fact that they are played up rather luridly, are what bothers the Christian right the most about 50 Shades of Grey...in fact, you can point to many places in the bible where a D/s lifestyle is actually promoted (well, as long as it's one where the man is the Dominant). Most of those making the loudest noises about 50 Shades fall into in the deeply fundamentalist end of the spectrum.

First and foremost, these Christians tend to view it as pornography, and most flavors of Christianity (and most other religions, for that matter) view overtly sexual media as something sinful to be avoided (which is ironic, since studies have shown that the most religious U.S. states also happen to be the the states with the highest on-line porn consumption). Another sticking point for many conservative Christians is the fact that they see the film and book as glorifying sexuality out of wedlock, which remains another Christian no-no for most denominations.

Are you sinning because you have these thoughts and interests? That depends on who you talk to. Most fundamentalist Christians would say "yes," but who says they have a monopoly on truth? You are free to interpret the bible or any other text the way you see fit, so I suggest that you do just that and continue to blaze your own trail and not worry about what other Christians are saying.

This, by the way, comes from a committed atheist who has studied religion extensively in his journey from belief to nonbelief.

"and that is sad you went from belief to non... I pray that won't happen to me..."

Don't feel sad...I certainly am not. It's a choice that just makes sense for me, but I certainly respect that you have found fulfillment on a different path. One of us is right and one of us is wrong, but we'll probably never have the opportunity to prove it to one another, so why not live and let live. I look at it this way...just because we're betting on different horses doesn't mean we can't both enjoy the race together.

hi christy, I believe the answer to why she left in 50 SoG was something you mentioned about Christian

"about the onlly think he had trouble with was the aftercare, or sleeping together, now if he could get past that in his mind, he could have it all as well..."

Maybe she realized that the relationship wouldn't go beyond the playing? Some look for play partners that doesn't require strings. Some can't deal with an intimate relationship, because that means they would have to show feelings and emotions. Playing, you learn what brings pleasure, and how to push limits, you don't need to go into the deep dark secrets that would reveal the true person.

Look at Secretary, he rejected her, throw her away, but she saw more in him, and fought to get his attentions back, bottom line, the intimacy that was just laying in the surface.

I maybe wrong, call me an idealist or romantic. bdsm isn't 24/7/365, there requires time for intimacy and romance. Time were you can relax, and cuddle, even if the sub/slave is kept in a collar at home or or privacy of the bedroom.

As far as the churches calling this a devil movie...most times people will flock to see that movie over another. Religion is what is in your heart and soul. "You must be at church every Sunday or you will perish in the depths of hell!!" Why? They can only judge me on earth on how I fit their standards and perceived beliefs from the bible. My judgment will come from a higher being. My cathedral isn't the structure (church) built by mortal man, but that which was "created" but a higher form, God, Allah, Buddha, the eagle or the bear by the american native indians. The forest, ocean, beach, valleys, mountains, waterfalls or the stars are my church. I can pray or talk, or just sit back an appricate what was given to us.

I'm off my soap box. Have a wonderful evening and a great weekend ahead.
