Two words: breakfast pizza.

I remember now.

Having worked Graveyard for many years, I found that reversing meal types fit in well with my lifestyle. Meatloaf and potatoes after work and bacon and eggs before. For the most part, I like to eat when I am hungry and especially before going shopping. Nothing saves money at the grocery store like a full stomach and what goes to fill that stomach is what appeals at the time. I am used to spaghetti with a home made sauce. It is so delicious to satisfy your hunger both in your belly and in your mind. Food has so much more to do with your take on life than on the cultural drives. When lost and lonely that fried chicken leg soothes all the hurt and fears and it is there beckoning wanting to fulfill all your desires.

The blackest lie is a partial truth that leads you to the wrong conclusion.

When I was meeting with the dietitian after my diabetes diagnosis last spring, she asked me about what I eat for breakfast....I asked her what time is that meal served? It's been years since I worked and slept at the same time as the masses, so structured mealtimes and menus no longer make much sense to me.

Unfortunately, diabetes has struck all three of those items—pizza, beer, and ice cream—off my menu choices no matter what the time of day is. My food choices and times to eat them would shock most people...it's not unusual to find me grilling a steak at 4 a.m. or cooking up an omelet at 3 in the afternoon...or the complete inverse. My stomach also is oblivious to the clock on the wall.

morii

LOL

I just read a study that suggests skipping breakfast is the best way to lose weight!

Personally, I cannot drink beer at any time except extremely hot days!

It's nice to have civilised eating schedule it seems.
Grabbing whatever possible when hungry is the usual here.

The opinions and understanding portrayed in my blog are mainly unfounded, misguided or wrong.

Working midnight shift usually means leftovers from the previous night for breakfast be what they may, cold or warmed up pizza, depending on the type, or if feeling ambitious after long night maybe hash browns, eggs, and bacon, no real set time of when I eat or what.

I'll eat whatever. But....I didn't prior to moving to OZ. Sir Ducks favorite breakfast is fish and eggs. Ewwwwwwwwwwww. But he loves it. Or Beans on Toast. Or Spaghetti on Toast. Or whatever is leftover from the night before. I think breakfast lunch and dinner is a cultural thing. Lots of Rice here and fruit. At least where I live. So...I'm learning....eat what's there. I still don't do fish in the morning but that's just me. But I'll make his.

PS. When I knew we were having a big shindig...I'd buy big boxes of cheerios and instant oatmeal...just for those that had to work the next day. I left them on the counter so I didn't have to tend to visitors. I was a lazy hostess. Laughs. The morning after anywho.
