As rigger. Limited experience though. but you generally keep feet on something when it is by wrist alone. One of the biggest problems is new folks buying what I call decorative cuff from some of the on line retailers or places like Hot Topic. They are not designed to actually take weight of any amount and tend to break. That is just plain dangerous.

Cuff should truly fit the wearer if an suspension or restriction is used. Which means I suggest actually going to a toy maker who let you try them on. Inspect are they using several good quality rivets and also stitching. Is it a good thickness of leather ? I do not suggest using pleather or vinyl cuffs of any sort if going to be used for anything but decoration.
