I think I am also around 9, or perhaps 8.

When recently people were giving me some hard time (totally understandable, in a way very much deserved) about our current life circumstance I didn't mind as much being on the receiving end myself. I am a big girl and can take it. However, when there were some less favourable things said about my Dom (such as if he was a 'so-called dom) it ruffled my feathers a lot more and I started to feel defensive. It felt as if I didn't mind myself being criticised but I was a lot more thin skinned when it came to him.

Supergirl will always protect here dominant.

I think submissives are always protective of their dominants. It is not just the dominant protecting the submissive.

It is no different than vanilla life. Wives protect husband and husbands protect wives in a healthy relationship.

Pyx, yes, I agree with everyone here...a wonderful, (hotly provocative, to me) thoughtful post, and your new pic is de-damn-lectable.

I tend to be protective...having growing up feeling VERY protected by my mother

(What everyone knew about Bessie:

"Just try bothering Lil' James, and you'll have Bessie to kill..."

You write very well...and I confess I never thought much about a sub's Dom Protectiveness Quotient before now.

how can we make those people aware of our significant others worth to US? We cannot. not within reason anyways, which is why we feel so strongly about being protective

Ok. It makes sense.

And while I don't know you well, (I'll get closer via your blogs) I should think you're a good person to know.
