" a slave must be freed of her disguise . the slave is in the stone and like a sculptor one must chip away the "excess" stone . I believe it is better to do that with kindness rather than through force . a slaves
unconditional love is a much more powerful result than her fear . "

I must agree with MS. We all wear masks to hide our deep true inner selves. What does it take to reach inside and touch the deepest essence of a person? Is "breaking" a person part of that powerful act? I would think it is more slow and subtle than that, but I imagine at times there are some strong emotions and "breaking" might not be a bad way to describe the way he walls come down and the mask comes off. On the other hand, I wonder if whoever said that might be confusing an M/s relationship with an abusive and violent relationship? I think about "breaking" a horse- breaking its spirit until it ceases to run free- until it's exuberance is beaten out of it. I would certainly hope that is not what anyone is seeking in a relationship.

I have never felt that was the path to open up a submissive/slave. I fell a submissive is one who volunteers here submission because she is compelled by the dominant's actions and nature. Not because of some sort of aversion techniques; i.e. a submissive is not 'broken" like a horse or any animal. A submissive has a mind and free will iwth a means of openly communication. animals do not speak our languages.

Tam

I too agree! Your Family proves the point!

You build your slaves not break them....
