Chat up lines #4

I received this rather poetic message very recently. The gentleman rather nicely asks if I'd like him to come round and do me. He's on his way to mine as I type

But the message got me thinking about what I calI 'the act' when chatting to others.

With lovers it's 'fuck'. On this blog I think I tend to use the word 'fuck'. With friends (ones I don't sleep with) it tends to be 'shag'. With my parents I use 'intimate with'. How sweet is that. Never is it 'making love' with anyone ever.

So why the difference in terms? I like the rawness and direct sound of the work 'fuck'. It just feels appropriate with those I, well, fuck. Making love sounds quite dull in comparison in my mind.

I guess the different terms used with others are tailored to their sensitivities around the topic and perhaps mirror the phrases they use.

But overall it probably doesn't matter what you call it. To adapt a well known saying 'a fuck by any other name would feel as amazing'.

What do you do call 'doing it' and why?

I'm with you on the individuality of the whole thing. Even though my family is not naïve by any stretch, I feel it would be disrespectful to talk about me fucking in any way, shape, or form. Now to have that word in conversation or a joke, that's a different story.

My friends and I.......it also depends on the audience. I believe we are sensitive to those around us and adapt our behavior as such.

Gosh I think we are rather boring as if we use any term we just tend to say 'have sex'. I had never really thought it but that's what we tend to say in a 'normal' conversation. If he uses the f word as a verb I know the type of mood he is in . If he says 'I want to f you' it's raw. He really wants it and is feeling rather animalistic about it. We never use words like 'shag'(?) and overall I just don't think we don't use any terms that often. We talk about sexy stuff usually all the time without actually using a word to refer to the act of doing it if that makes sense.

And yes I am double boring as I don't think I talk about sex with anyone else (apart from here). Perhaps I am too reserved. Am I missing out?

When in the throes of passion, "fuck" does nicely. When just talking about it with no emotional ties, "copulate" is my preferential word. When involve with someone I care about which is rare, "making love" or "making sweet love" or "loving" could be used. When regressing to adolescent and/or guttural tone, "making out" or "having my way" may be use.

For me, it's a point of situational usage.

Thanx for the post.

Fuck is a nice simple and direct term and I prefer it whenever it seems appropriate, but there are times when a euphemism is called for. Which euphemism depends on circumstances. Screw, sleep with, make out with, maybe even cuddle if I'm talking to the kids (grandkids these days).

Incidentally, I could never figure out why fuck is regarded as an obscene word, while bugger seems perfectly acceptable.
Ha yes, it does seem odd that speaking about the act of anal sex is often the polite substitute people use instead of a swear word.

Context is key it would seem.

From what you've told me it seems very far from boring!

And thanks for the comment. Context does seem to be important.
