I respect your opinion, but I do not find your argument for that opinion to be terribly convincing. First off, you never adequately define what constitutes being "dominant." How do you quantify this? What is your measure for determining a masculine man from a feminine man? You can't call something a myth when you haven't even adequately defined what it is, and you can't test a hypothesis that has no accepted, measurable parameters.

But let's just say for a minute that your sweeping generalizations, false analogies, questionable statistics, and citation-less claims do point in the direction of supporting your opinion that the dominant female is a myth...so what? What is the utility of that statement? There are plenty of people who find fulfillment and happiness in the thing you call a myth. What do you want to do? Take that away from them?

First of all, I don't have a dominant bone in my body. Other women here seem to take great offense to this. I merely viewed it as another perspective to learn about. Other people's opinions aren't a direct description of me so why should I take offense? This is something I have had to learn the hard way.

I have seen the if you can't' be 'em, join 'em mentality with women in and out of the feminist movement and it is obnoxious. It's a lot of do as I say, not as I do. It has creeped up around here as well. Probably why I don't participate in the blogger in crowd parties.

Thatcher, Palin. There are indeed some very exceptionally competent, strong female leaders. I'll repeat myself: Those women demand stronger men than themselves, for their mates."
