High school graduate, some college but no degree, dom. Some of the smartest people I know I met in the lifestyle. However I have seen too many virtually illiterate types here on alt to think that as a whole BDSM'er are all that educated. Like any other cross-section of humanity there is a scale and wide variance. ML.

In my experience, the distribution in education levels in the lifestyle and in the world at large seems pretty much the same. One thing I have noticed is that education and actual intelligence don't always correlate. I've met plenty of very wise and well-spoken people with no post-secondary education and plenty of degree-holding idiots. Good bdsm cannot be practiced in the absence of intelligence. Without intelligence, all you have is abuse. Whether that intelligence came with formal education, or out of one's own ability and curiosity to learn is not that significant. subottom
