I've read and reposted a couple of blogs from guys who have been ripped off so unconscienably that it almost made me weep. Thousands of dollars sent in the sad belief that they are "worshipping" the woman of their dreams on the promise that she will soon be ready to receive them and dispense whatever form of humiliation they believe the want.

One was brave enough to make his finacial humilation public just to expose how dreadfully he had been ripped off. But of course, that particular "Mistress" drops out of sight but another appears in "her" place.

I think it's a fucking shame!

Really!

An excellent post. It should be above the gates of Alt in big firey letters!

And to get to the domestic brand of rip-off artist, you must first wade through a sea of scams coming at you out of Russia, Ghana, Nigeria, with Nigerians in Malaysia now crowding the field. Subs should regard the following as red flags: 1) Gets you out of ALT to YM or the like, and quickly demands that you close your ALT account; 2) brings up the question of buying toys; 3) refuses any face to face contact until the first training session; 4) requires payment of "tribute" as a sign that you are not a time waster; 4a) Needs your financial assistance to solve any one of a host of urgent problems. Perennial favorites are medical emergency, help settling parental estate, and help clearing a package held up in customs.

Nor is it easy to be a dom these days. Female subs have their own repertoire of sob stories, all of them designed to grant access to your wallet.

BEWARE!

I think back to that line from the Eurythmics:

Some of them want to use you
Some of them want to get used by you
Some of them want to abuse you
Some of them want to be abused.

The more I look around, the more I have to ask myself "are they HAPPY with what they are doing?" If they are, then I try not to judge. What works for me, might not work for everyone else. I agree there is a fine sometimes between abuse and showing submission and it's rare people agree on where that exact line should be drawn.

If a older gentleman truly get's a rise out of giving gifts to a younger Dom, I know he may see it one way, the Dom might see it another, and his heirs might see it completely another way too. But for me the difference is if it is an understanding of the "relationship" that they are in, or is it a misunderstanding of a vulnerable person who is naive and being taken advantage of?

I am glad to here that there are Doms out there like you that are scrupulous and are looking of a "relationship" of sorts instead of simply their next meal ticket from a desperate person. Kudo's to you for that. Thank you for bringing attention to the difference between the different types of doms out there and keep up the good blogging!
