I recently encountered someone who, indeed, was hearing voices of some sort. I was standing next to him at the refrigerated case at my local convenience store, when out of nowhere he really loudly stated, "I KNOW shoes!" Then, in kind of a mumble, he carried on, insisting that he was some kind of expert on footwear.

I assumed he was on the phone, but his sudden outburst from nowhere seemed pretty strange, so I snuck a look...there was no bluetooth earpiece (a.k.a. douchebag official accessory) and no wired earbuds. Apparently this guy was getting his own wireless signal from who knows where.

That has happened to me a few times. I am in the construction field. And as i am evaluating their requests .. the phone clicks on and they too hold up one finger. yes it is somewhat annoying. I usually say excuse me i have to take this and make it as short as possible telling the person i will call them back.. When they get off the phone I have one hand on my ear ... and raise that infamous one finger... I make them wait 30 second (to them this is a very long time )... then act like I hung up and say ...now what can I do for you.... hahah!
