 I agree with the distance issue. Too far apart makes it hard to have that same connectivity with the other. As well as safety issues in bad weather. Would rather spend the time with them rather then spending most of the time on the road getting to and from them.

 an hour away is not all that bad...the mind prepares us for the ride and the anticipation grows during the trip..
