i think i made a mistake....

My class this term is on communication, gender, and culture. When I read the little syllabus blurb, it seemed like I would be learning how the genders communicate differently and how to bridge the gaps. So far, I couldnt be more wrong! This course seems to be much more interested in forwarding radical feminist attitudes. I really feel sorry for the couple of guys in the class. One of them went so far as to apologize for being male! After only one class! So.... How does a submissive female who is VERY happy being considered the property of a man communicate effectively in this environment? This whole term is going to be a test of tact, I think.... |

Yeah I have found that if you just mumble "men are fucking dogs," and then walk off humming something by Indigo girls it will work. Mind you when I do it is for the sake of confusing them enough to give myself a head start... That which we achieve too easily, we esteem too little. Thomas Payne

Should be interesting if nothing else. heh heh... you could always claim to be playing "the devil's advocate" For newcomers and not so newcomers. Arm yourself with knowledge

Elusive, I can't tell you how many times I've had to bite my tongue so far! It's a good thing it's an on-line course.... Megadweezel, I'll have to offer up that tip to the guys in the class! Thanks for stopping by!Thank you for the tip, Satans Requiem! I'm doing a search on her as I type.... Zhanna, thank you for the reminder! It is only a class and I need to stop stressing about how I'm going to get a good grade if I don't agree with the instructor. As long as I'm respectful and logical in the arguments I make, she shouldn't be able to count it against me. Right?  Nan, it's been interesting all right! 'Mama, how did you guess?  I keep throwing that out there and then trying to disengage quickly....MyLove, I would LOVE to see you take them on! The mere thought is making me laugh!

i would have an absolute blast being in a class like that. i have some fairly strong and conservative opinions about certain matters (like you do in this case), and i would thoroughly enjoy setting those alternate views out in full-light for others to see. i had a similar situation in a course in law school on medical ethics in which we discussed assisted suicide, cloning, and "selective termination" for IVF patients. There was another female student who had the radically liberal perspective on all these topics, and we would get in some highly heated debates. GOOD FUN!!
