Drawing from the Well

Damn Miranda--Sonar Warning!
What I want for myself, and everyone else on the planet, are sexual experiences that, way more often than not, bring joy, affection, intimacy, pleasure, loving communication and touch, warmth, laughter, perhaps an orgasm or twelve, contentment, bliss, and maybe even a few moments of ecstasy into our lives. Love, as someone once said, comes when manipulation and definition stops.

I want these experiences, these feelings, for any woman I'm fortunate to be with, and the person she's fortunate to be with (that would be me), whether our relationship lasts for a few hours, for a decade or for a lifetime.
~ Joani Blank, paraphrased
_____________
I will go anywhere and talk to anyone for answers to questions, absorbing what I find useful and after satisfying questioning my Self, will disregard anything that seems irrational. *Shrugging*
With freedom, I’m simply compassionate, empathic, pragmatically optimistic, friendly, hedonistic, fortunate man-hoe, and Unafraid of taking risks.

Welcome to the Well.

If you can imagine a place where everyone is encouraged to listen to and value ideas and comments made from perspectives that are different than yours, then you might also concede that we can all share in a gracious atmosphere here at the Well.

Breathing Deeply is a requirement in here – drama/bad theater Unwelcome; all else, optional.

It Takes a Crane To Drag Some Things Into View (1) The Safe Word Means Stop Feb 7, 2012 8:10 am

The Safe Word Means Stop

That’s the theory — just like “no” means “no” for non-kinksters — just, it’s not always so in practice, is it?

Do we acknowledge that ignoring a safeword is abuse – non-consent?
Is venturing beyond negotiated play, abusive?
>>Is an aquiescent's (sub/bottom/slave/maso...) failure to use a safeword abuse as well?

>>Well, first, can we just say blaming the victim is perverse – and concede that sexual assault occurs when a safeword is ignored?

And second, victims of sexual and psychological abuse (in the lifestyle and out) are multitudinous. Some recover or cope better than others do – others still struggle tremendously, uncertain if they will ever become who they once were, or progress to who they thought they could be.

Some do well most times – until something, usually unexpected, triggers memories that send them spiraling downwards as if caught in the remorseless memory’s black hole gravity.

Still others give up and give in, feeling far beyond any hope of help.

I imagine you know someone in this (Hell) situation, recovering or dealing with it still

(I surely do – one, fascinatingly enough since it’s Black History Month - a black sub female auctioned – and in private race play - ‘Gerald’s Game’-like, found her safeword/no-penetration boundaries ignored..she...is inlcined NOT to pusruse legal remedy ATM. )

You know, knew, or heard of someone in this situation.
Might even be you...

So –
Without living in the paralysis of fear or its opposite, the risk of the myth of invulnerability –

What’re we going to do?
What are YOU gonna do?

I think I prefer understanding others to ensuring that others understand Me.

How cool is it to hone comprehension skills and learn stuff?

Let's just say that I feel it's hard to learn anything by talking - listening just seems more - effective.

Black History Month Afterthought:

A friend’s husband asked Me a question the last two times we hung out.
Nice guy – great Significant Other. Not into BDSM.

The first question - during Gasparilla, was ~

“Why don't more Black People own boats?” (He’s a boat owner.) “Do Black people not like water?”

The second, yesterday, was ~

“Why isn’t there a ‘White’ History Month?” (He doesn’t see a need.) “Would it be racially prejudiced or something if we did?”

Each time I said ~

“...I don't know.”

He also happens to be a millionaire, and, admittedly feels that Black History is already included in the average history text in these modern times.

After a while I said,

"Suppose I said that with the boat question - there might be a significant i$$ue of affordability?"

"And for the second, let's say that no question black history would be better inside all US history texts - just - it currently isn’t...and seems it'll take a while for it to BE so - provided history textbook authors ever want to."

He seemed satisfied enough.

How'd I handle that you think?

I welcome thoughts on the post or the P.S. One’s as intriguing as the other is.

If we accept and acquiesce in the face of discrimination, we accept the responsibility ourselves and allow those responsible to salve their conscience by believing that they have our acceptance and concurrence.

We should, therefore, protest openly everything... that smacks of discrimination or slander.
~Mary McLeod Bethune

We should emphasize not Negro History, but the Negro in history. What we need is not a history of selected races or nations, but the history of the world void of national bias, race hate, and religious prejudice. ~Carter Woodson

Men are generally more inclined to value sex outside a committed relationship than are women. And this might help explain an interesting discrepancy found in another study.

The researchers asked people their perceptions of whether men or women are generally more likely to say “I love you” first.

The common perception was that women are much more likely to make such a verbal commitment. But the common perception is wrong.

In actuality, Ackerman and colleagues replicated something found decades ago by other researchers – that men are quite a bit more likely to actually say “I love you” first.

I love comedy movies, esp. romantic comedies.Sandy Bullock and Julia Roberts never let Me down.

Still, Goldie Hawn (from Butterflies Are Free to Houseguest –) and Meg Ryan (Harry Met Sally) were also faves. Goldie’s daughter, Kate Hudson, not as good or cute as her mom-but good.
Anything with Cameron Diaz, Nia Long, Jada Pinkett, Rashida Jones, Scarlett Johansson, Reese Witherspoon, Jennifer Aniston (Din like 'Friends'), and Jennifer Connelly (~ with how hairy I imagine her to be~ has always intrigued Me)

I love a lot of sci-fi and fantasy fare.

I like adventure/action as well.
Watched a replay of Salt last night (Jan 30) – wondered how Angelina Jolie’s character would compare to other female baddass characters, like Columbiana (Zoe Saldana), Miho (Devon Aoki) in Sin City or A Kiss Before Dying (Geena Davis), or Uma Thurman’s character Beatrix Kiddo (from Kill Bill) .

Aside from whipping Lucy Lui’s character, Oren, & the chick w/ the ball and chain, Darryl Hannah’s One-eyed character, and about a million of Oren's henchmen, that Five-Point Palm Exploding Heart Technique (FPPEHT) makes her, Kiddo, hard to surpass as I see it.

But wait.
Except maybe for Kate Beckinsale as Selene, in the Underworld series.

(She is a vampire after all.) Would the FPPEHT work? Would Kiddo be fast enough to land it? Selene might be in trouble with Kiddos Sword skills...Unsure.
Might be worth seeing, that encounter.
Maybe the Winner would get to strap-on the loser?

I love horror fiction/movies.
If Horror is comedy, then comedy can be horrible as well, as I feel it uses someone’s tragedy or misfortune as an underpinning. I get to laugh (uneasily) at unreal horror – glad that what I see is ?? just a rehearsal for my Own death - without actually dying? Unsure.

I liked the blending of the western and alien invasion genres (Cowboys and Aliens).
Imagine a blend of:
horror/action/romance/comedy/sci-fi/fantasy/erotica- Psychoerotica/BDSM/psych-thriller-- in One movie.
Hm.
I like it.
(Isebone ®)

Horror movies that engage My Mind are the worst for Me-(Silence of the lambs)- annnd movies that involve the Animate Dead (Night of the Living Dead)unnerve Me due to My corpse phobia...

Will most men judge you negatively if you show your inner freak? No.

It’s a heartwarming thing to see a woman begin to realize just how fine they are, esp. if there was some doubts before (comparisons Kill!) It’s beautiful to see them acknowledge that the are sexy - hot. It’s as if they turn themselves on with your soft, amazing body and your steamy bedroom moves.

I imagine them thinking, ‘You are so good at this girl – you destroyed Him.’ And if you do, then that could be why you’re having an amazing sex life.

But, I’m speculating; My theory is that what we tell ourselves, what others tell us about ourselves, and what we choose to believe IS our reality.

What we choose to believe - is Boss.

But back to that first thing:

Men are quite a bit more likely to actually say, “I love you” first.

Wonder why that is...

Imagine Your Car Falling Into Deep Water With You Still In It - AT Night ( S-C-W-O ) Jan 31, 2012 12:36 pm

Well.
I drive over and near a lot of water in Tampa Bay, and did as a kid in Brunswick as well.
There are a lot of bridges here.

I keep a hammer in my car at all times.
"Why," a friend asked, "do you keep a hammer under your seat?”
+++

(NOV 1972-Brunswick, GA)

As a high-schooler in 1972, a steering error (or an order from a river pilot that sent the vessel off course) sent the 11 thousand ton freighter, African Neptune crunching into the supports of the Sidney Lanier bridge (A Vertical Lift Bridge) just to the right/south of the open center span.

Several spans fell into the Brunswick River, spilling a dozen or so cars and trucks waiting for the vertical span to lower - plummeting about 45 feet into the frigid dark water below. (At night water is tar-black—-I wondered how I’d know which way was 'up' if there was no light at the surface). Eight to maybe 10 people died as I recall. Some made it to safety.

After days, even months, some who died couldn't be found.
For months the bridge stayed down, but later it was repaired
- in 1973;it was replaced with a new, taller & hurricane ready cable-stayed bridge in 2003.
+++

I keep my pistol near Me at all times if possible.
'Nuff said.
I keep a hammer in my car at all times.
**Shrugging**

In a car, a spill into water means a person has to escape through the window, not the door -- pressure has to equalize inside and outside the car (it has to be totally submerged) before it will open. Use the hammer (although feet/anything heavy enough will do) On A Window, Not The Indestructible Windshield.

“Land, ho! Hoist the mizzen ‘n’ set sail for Tampa!” Jan 28, 2012 9:39 am

'...Shouts from the legendary pirate Jose Gaspar and his band of marauding buccaneers will ring out across the waters of Hillsborough Bay as they return to invade the City of Tampa.

On Saturday, January 28th, at 11:30 a.m., the world’s only fully-rigged pirate ship, the Jose Gasparilla, will magically appear at the south end of Hillsborough Bay. A multitude of pleasure crafts, all intent on defending the city, will boldly sail forth to meet the ship.

But quickly seeing the error of their ways, they turn to join forces with the Captain and his Krewe’s flotilla. The colorful Gasparilla Flotilla then makes its way north across Hillsborough Bay and into Seddon Channel (channel between Davis Island & Harbour Island). The Gasparilla Invasion has begun!

Amidst a volley of cannon fire, the City is defenseless.
In this annual re-enactment of Tampa’s historic pirate invasion, the Gasparilla Flotilla – led by the Jose Gasparilla teeming from bow to stern and capstan to crow’s nest with swashbuckling Ye Mystic Krewe of Gasparilla [YMKG] pirates – creates a spectacular sight as she heads up Seddon Channel towards downtown Tampa.

When the Jose Gasparilla docks at the Tampa Convention Center (at 1 p.m.), the Mayor will surrender the Key to the City of Tampa into the hands of the Captain of Ye Mystic Krewe of Gasparilla.

With the Key to the City in their hands, the jolly Krewe will launch their victory celebration in the Parade of the Pirates down Bayshore Boulevard...
