I'm fucking sick of gratuitous sex on TV and film.
It seems like every show on HBO is full of it and I don't get why. Have we become so repressed that we have to see it on TV because we cannot actualize it ourselves? Is that the appeal of that crap Fifty Shades of Grey? I recently heard that book called "mommy porn."
That term fucking depresses me more than the goddamn book does.
You know what hell is to me? To be in my 40s and not enjoy sex because I am too ashamed to admit to myself what I want; to have to see it on TV or read bad Twihard BDSM books with one eye on the bedroom door in case my partner comes into the room. To watch it or read it three to five times a year when the urges get too much and then just tsk tsk at everything different than my 2.1 kids and white picket fence.
Fuck that.

I pre-ordered Diablo 3 last night.
Diablo (and Diablo 2, for that matter) were responsible for many late nights, bleary eyes and the genesis of my carpal tunnel.
I be friggin stoked for D-3!
I'd like to get the band back together and play with the people I played with fifteen years ago but they've all grown up and spawned and shit and I doubt they have time or interest in an MMORPG anymore.
... and I'll likely have to find some 11 year old to mentor me, because the last time I gamed was, well-- let's just say before that 11 year old was born; and let's face it kids pick up this shit faster than anything.
So then... who wants to play a game with me?

I stumbled across some porn today that in retrospect was pretty instrumental in my sexual development.
Okay; "stumbled across" is probably not an accurate assessment, since I was clearly trolling for porn. I like to look back at 80s porn because despite the big hair and coked out actresses it takes me back.
And the one I found today SO took me back... it was the clip from Insatiable where Marilyn Chambers fucks the gardener. This film is from 1980, but I probably saw it around 1986 - 1988, when I was in my mid to late teens. I have actually been looking for this scene for some time, but I could not recall the name of the film or the actors, just some of the plot,
Watching it today as I am, the power exchange in this scene is incredible. So I have a series of calls to make today for work and I'm trying to do what whilst the public works peeps are outside doing whatever it is they are doing to water system ...

I just read some manifesto on fet that some submissive woman wrote in response to someone she connected with in kink that turned out to be abusive. It had multiple points and sub-parts about rules and what was right and what was wrong and who should do what To Prevent This From Happening In The Future For Everyone Else.
And whilst I am the first person to defend those who are taken advantage of in kink I call foul.
Firstly, I don't need a list of rules and should/should nots and musts from anyone else. No one does, really. You should already know what your rules are well before you kink and you should recognize that not everyone shares your rules. Those are the only shoulds that matter to me. The trick of it all is to find someone who shares the same rules as you.
Period. Pretty simple in theory if not in practice.
Like Ernest Hemingway said, "what is moral is what you feel good after, and what is immoral is what you feel bad after." I'm not taking that quote to its logical conclusion and saying here that there are some things that are intrinsically wrong. I do feel that way, but that's another post entirely. But aside from those absolutes everyone has different moralities.
I am saying don't reduce yourself to a victim because you failed at due diligence and didn't really get to know the person you were playing with.
If you don't know how to use a loaded weapon don't pick one up, or you might shoot yourself and die.
If you don't know what you want out of kink, who you are playing with, what kink means to him or her, then don't pick anyone up, or you might shoot yourself and die.
If you are an adult and you consent to something without bothering to establish and own the parameters then you're assuming a risk, so don't cry when the diaper splits and the shit buries you.
And if that person was such a predator that s/he completely hoodwinked you, lead your down the merry path and seriously took advantage of you then I'm very sorry. That's wrong and that person is a monster. I think these people exist; I know they do. And they can fool everyone... but at some level it makes sense to me to go back and try to understand the how and the why it happened, and to do your best never to have it happen again. I'm not saying assume blame for what happened, but I am saying take a close look at the choices you did control in that relationship and consider what you could do differently next time.
But to set forth a list of rules that everyone must follow is reactionary and is merely a straw man. I am not you.
