I am so upset by the news that three or four of my LSU Tigers appear to have been involved in a bar brawl that could leave them facing criminal charges. The story as I have read it is that a driver in a truck blew his horn to get a crowd of people to disperse so he could pass, and the players pulled the guy out of the truck to beat on him. A bystander, a Marine, jumped into the fray and he was kicked in the head by our freakin quarterback.
Here's the thing-
1. These players were out after curfew and should be suspended for that; Les Miles has done worse to players who have done less.
2. These players should be prosecuted if in fact they were drunk and started a fight that left one person seriously injured.
3. No one should be kicked in the head ever. Based on my experience with military peeps in general and Marines in particular this guy was probably amped up, drunk and hair-trigger ready to kick ass, just like the football players. The fact that he is a Marine means that probably has the same character traits that allows someone to be a college football star on a nationally ranked team: young, athletic, aggressive and impulse control challenged. No one appreciates service to their country more than me, but let's get off the "He was a Marine!" bandwagon like he was a day old kitten that got curbed. The Marines are currently flaming the LSU face book page and that is crap, really.
4. This whole thing goes back to genetics and environment. When you select for a group of guys who excel at aggression, mix in alcohol and subtract good judgment this sort of shit happens.
~however~
Everyone needs to learn accountability for their actions, even if it costs
me my fucking chance at a national championship
and
If Alabama wins the SEC I'll have to listen to Jbiglord
or
If South Carolina wins the SEC I'll have to listen to kittylove45, who at least I can gag.
Sigh.

If I could be accused of being vain about anything physical it would be my skin. I'm very fair, and I have spent my whole life shunning the sun and not smoking and doing my best to prevent damage. I also get facials every six to eight weeks, which is the point of this post.
I've had more facials that some people have had haircuts. It's very self indulgent of course, and pricey to boot, but to me there is no better salon service in the world. I currently rank my last aesthetician as the best, and that had really nothing to do with the fact that she was a smoking hot Russian ex pat who always did my decollete for free.. heh heh.
I had my first facial here in NJ and it was interesting because she used a violet wand on my face. She didn't call it that of course, but that is what it was. It was amusing to both the kinky and science-y sides of me to have her explain what it was and how it helps when I oh-so-innocently asked her about it.
Heh heh. Violet wands remind me of YoungTyrant and EyeCandy. Good times!
... WHY did I keep typing VIOLENT Wands instead of VIOLET Wands?? Must be Freudian...

... to you
little boy in the F350 in the lane next to me at the drive up for the bank.
You so remind me of my sweet Kentucky boy with your baby face and side burns and big-ass truck.
I'm seeing you naked and kneeling and tied up looking up at me through that shock of hair with that earnest/innocent/slightly terrified look in your eyes
that makes the Mami in me want to bite you and pull you forward

 Inspired by this
With the exception of chat forums on both ya-Hell and Macrohard (both of which are now gone), almost every single person of note in my life that I met in kink in was from blogland.
Almost every single one; from lovers to partners to partners in crime to owned subs of others to friends.
And the vast majority of them date back to the "golden age of blogging."
So here's me flipping the bird to people who don't get, can't get or are incapable of getting how special that group of people is/were.
I sincerely hope your experience in blogland has been half as profound, that you have met in real time half as many amazing, brilliant and deviant souls that I met from that group. These are people that do not blog here anymore, do not have profiles here anymore but who have profoundly touched me in so many ways.
So whether you came just after that time or recently started blogging, when I refer to the old days it's not about you, hey? Not everything is. It's about the people I miss that made this fucking place what it became today. It's evolution in action.
As fella says--- without blogland this place is nothing. Well, he says it a lot better with a few swears tossed in there.
And whilst I am content to name so many here merely pixels on a screen as a way to dismiss the assholery and general malcontent and desperate need for mental health that runs rampant here
I am so thankful I was able to meet so many of you from the good old days and I'm quite confident that as time rolls by I'll meet even more wonderful people whilst I firmly continue to avoid some of you.

This post is dedicated to my loyal subject Biffy, as he started me thinking about this in his blog ~~~> here This began as a comment there but has evolved into one of my rambles that is defying my editing, so I'm just gonna freestyle/Old School here, baby. THIS is what happens when I don't blog regularly.
I don't have a problem with those in age specific groups like The Next Generation. I get the ick factor that the young, dumb and full of cum crowd can have for us old folks in our walkers and bifocal glasses.
If you are in your 20s you probably want to meet other people near your age, maybe because you want to select a life partner. Maybe you are not into older people, or maybe expectations and needs are different as we go from generation to generation. Of course there are exceptions but in general most people like to date within their age group. Most people present their primary kink partner to the world as their vanilla partner and if you are 22 and dating someone twice your age the norms are prone to wonder why you're with that person and peer pressure...? she a bitch.
If your instinct is to say who the fuck cares about peer pressure then you may not really remember what life in your 20s was like. Of course maybe YOU in your supreme confidence didn't give a rat's ass about what other people thought, and bully to you for it, but the average person will capitulate to peer pressure in a heartbeat, especially if they are turned on by something that is not mainstream and are struggling with understanding it.
Anywho, I think the Next Gen thing is fine. I think that most everything in kink is fine and I'm not into designing rules that I think other people should live by. More power to those groups; I wished that they existed when I was in my 20s and just starting out in kink...
That being said, I think it's helpful or dare I say very advisable to have a mentor, especially for a Dominant. If people restrict themselves to their own age group and they are younger chances are that most everyone has minimal or the same experiences, and that can run the gambit from boring to downright dangerous.
That brings me to the real point of this blather-- experience. I always roll my eyes at people who love to announce how experienced they are at every chance they get. I think it's great to have it and I certainly do put it in my profile but not because I think I know everything but because I've seen and done quite a lot and I know what I want, what works for me and exactly what I will and will not do... that's what experience has given me.
There's a great quote by Jim Horning I like to live by: "Good judgment comes from experience. Experience comes from bad judgment."
The problem with that quote as applied to kink is that bad judgment here can lead to hurt feelings and broken people or possibly even jail time. So while you may be turned on by a young hotty plastic fantastic in her pricey rubber outfit make sure you check the label and ask her how she handled a scene that went south, or how long she has been using a bullwhip, or who trained her to use suspension.
The padawan can generally avoid a lot of bad experience and good judgment learned the hard way by listening to the Jedi Masters.
I'm just sayin'

I just had to clear my fucking cache to fix an IT problem and now I can't call up my favorite porn site, as I can't remember the name and the history is cleared... and it didn't fix my IT issue!
What good is the internet if I cannot find free porn on demand?
Fucking hell! I hate randomly stumbling into porn sites because of viruses. What sites do you all like?

All the assholes who think that addiction is not a disease need to consider what the experts say. But then, in this country especially we have a long history of discounting experts in science in medicine. In The American Psychiatric Association began to use the term disease to describe alcoholism in 1965, and the American Medical Association followed in 1966.
“A core concept evolving with scientific advances over the past decade is that drug addiction is a brain disease that develops over time as a result of the initially voluntary behavior of using drugs.” Alan Leshner, M.D.
… but of course it is a choice to drink alcohol or shoot heroin.
And if addiction is a choice then so are cancer and heart disease, the number one and two killers in this country. Because just like that addict had a choice to put a needle in his arm the colon cancer patient chose to eat a high fat low fiber diet and the heart attack patient chose to smoke and not exercise and that person who just died of lung cancer? Well she also chose to smoke and what about that melanoma victim that sunbathed for hours a week her entire adult life?
Are their choices somehow excused, are the people that die from heart disease and cancer afforded more of our sympathy because what they couldn’t say no to (or say yes to, for that matter) was legal and accessible?
Are their lives and their loss so much more meaningful because their poor choices were socially acceptable?
Are you going to talk about genetics to me now? About how cancer and heart disease run in families and there are multiple genes that have been implicated in contributing to these diseases? Do you know how many genes have been tied to addiction?
“Many people erroneously still believe that biological and behavioral explanations are alternative or competing ways to understand phenomena, when if fact they are complementary and integrative…. Addiction involves inseparable biological and behavioral components. It is the quintessential bio-behavioral disorder.” That’s the expert Dr. L again, by the way.
Cancer and Heart Disease and Addiction are complex diseases that are caused not only by the versions of genes we inherit but also by the choices we make in life. It’s like Poker. You can be dealt the best hand but lose the game because you made some poor judgment calls.
... So the next time you see another musician or actor OD or think about crack junkies try giving them the same empathy you give a leukemia patient…. But then it sure is nice to climb up on our high horses and talk about those junkies that have choice.
