A follow on from previous post.
It is really at times like these when I do have to fight sort of not wanting to be involved in anything scene wise.
I take heart in the fact that the people who know me = know me. It is hard not to feel judged by your peers.
I just want to be V the BDSM hermit.

Well today I logged on to another UK web-board that I belong to and someone had posted a story that closely echoed what I have earlier confessed to in When sorry just isn't enough... or Mea Culpa.
Ofcourse I'm feeling slightly sick reading some of the responses to that particular post because whilst it asks a general question about trusting anyone in the scene*; People are people and they will read all sorts of circumstances to a situation.
Including intentional outing, gossip mongering etc...
I think it is important for people to realise how easy it is to make a slip of the tongue. So you are a better person than me - Good for you. To that end I more or less regurgitated what I'd already journaled here. If I am never to be trusted with personal information again - so be it.
sigh.

So why is BDSM so taboo that we have the need to apologise for it?
This is rhetorical really because I am well aware some kinks and some occupations don't mix.
And I know kinks loose jobs homes lives family etc over BDSM.
And no - it's not usually worth loosing jobs, homes lives, family over BDSM It is preferable to be supressed, dishonest and secretive about your kinks!
Isn't it ironic that because you are dishonest and secretive - shady at best - about those choices ; it gives an aura of truthfulness to the idea that BDSM is something bad, wrong and shameful.
We should all pray hard for it to go away...
Sigh

I had my guard down and shared in confidence, some information I knew about another kink - which I really shouldn't have because that knowledge isn't mine to share.
In my defence (and I'm really not defending myself at all) I simply responded to honesty in kind and it came up in casual conversation.
Anon : I work at X
Me : Oh what a coincidence, Y also works at X too. You'd have met them if they were coming this week.
So just like that and there are words out there in the world that you cannot retract.
I think it would have been different if they'd met each other and had got into a conversation about work themselves.
But as such I am utterly culpable for this indiscretion and the consequent mistrust and paranoia.
Obviously I was thinking " Hey you could all meet for coffee and have a laugh - make new friends"
I hadn't considered how it might be spooky or how someonelse might want to keep their lives seperate.
So this lesson *you'd think I'd know better by now* is painful but well learnt and if you learn something from it too -- that's even better.
Though I think you are perfect and will never make this mistake ever
V
Edit to include :
This has been resolved atleast on one end. The person I told is someone I trust instinctually and it will never go further. (I know this but ofcourse I can't guarantee this)
The person who confronted me is considering leaving the scene and that is entirely my fault.

So these are the qualifiers from my great kitchen tidy up - the ones I got rid off were
3X Cole & Mason squeezey ball type grinders (I think the mechanism wears down quite fast because it is acrylic
1X set of wooden salt pepper mill
1X acrylic salt mill
And I'm still looking for the perfect ones

Doh - I have 4 not 3 Pestle and Motars
Arghsss
1) Tallest one from the back - I hand carried all the way back from Thailand!
2) The yellow one's porcelain that has been twice fired and is thus very hard.
3) Granite one (can't remember where or how I got it now)
4) A small iron one which isn't too good really because it tends to rust... which makes it slightly high maintenance
(gawd I'm sad)
Edited to add to 3) I remember I got it for nostalgic reasons. My mother has one thats very simillar only because it is so old and so frequently used - it is worn and has character... I want mine to be the same but only with my hand to it

Also great on labia because of its flat end it helps to spread the pressure of a clip evenly on a larger surface area.
Edit: How annoying! The pic I included with this post doesn't seem to have parsed... Well as it's late I'll try to figure it all out tommooorooo

The kitchen gadget thread got me thinking on the stuff I love to use.
I love using ordinary around the house things and if you could make a top 10 list of ordinary household items that you might sometimes carry around with you just for playing with; What would yours contain?
Mine would have to be.
1) Bamboo Skewers 2) Rubber Bands 3) Bamboo Pole Pegs 4) 7" Cooks Knife (Ala Psycho) 5) Plastic Bags 6) Duct Tape/Electrical Tape 7) Cling Film
Wooden Spoons 9) Lemons/Eggs 10)Jute Rope
