We have begun our Christmas decorating. Of course the only thing we've put out is our countdown calendar. As a Douglas Adams fan, I find today to be especially fun. After all, 42 is the ultimate answer to Life the Universe and Everything

Another day older and deeper in debt

I have been out on medical leave, my wife had a bit of a breakdown. I should be back to work next week. It makes paying the bill tough though. Oh well. Any suggestions on how to make some quick cash, legally? I can't donate blood, because I was in the army in Germany in the late 80's, and may have been exposed to vCJD, or Mad Cow Disease.

What a week

Monday I woke up with a pinched nerve in my left shoulder. I still went to work, but the pain is still there today(Thursday.
Tuesday, my wife's boyfriend finally was released from CMMC, but was transported to River Ridge rehab in Kennebunk. His physical treatment is done, but his brain injury caused by the heart attack still needs treatment.
Wednesday, my brother and his wife were over to take their cat back. we had been taking care of him because they were still living with my folks, and Mom is allergic to cats. They finally got a place about 2 or 3 blocks away.
This morning, while I was getting my sons clothes out for school, I noticed his guinea pig wasn't moving. He had died in the night. We kept my son home from school so he and my wife could take Corey to the vet to be cremated, and to the pet store to buy a new one. Corey was about 7 and a half, which for a guinea pig is down right ancient.
Lets hope that nothing dramatic happens tomorrow. I don't think I could take it!

My wife's BF is in rehab after being confined to a bed for 17 days. The good news is that they are not shipping him off to Brewer or Kennebunk. He is going to be doing the rehab right here in Lewiston at CMMC. He might even be able to get a new apartment in the area soon.

I am so looking forward to this Saturday! I have had so many things come up and prevent me going to the various parties since April, that I was starting to get a serious case of cabin fever. I have already packed a bag with sunscreen etc. Let's Party!!!!

My wife's BF is now in a regular room, as compared to Medical Observation. He's still confused a lot but he is getting better. Here's hoping he will be able to be released to his own home fairly soon, instead of nursing care.

Well, they are going to be putting a defibrillator in my wife's boyfriend. He is staying in Medical Observation for a few more days for his surgery, then they will be moving him to a regular room. His doctor wants to have him go to Boston for surgery for his seizures. we'll see how things go from there. His heart attack came from a massive seizure. His heart itself is fine. the neurological damage seems to be minor, but he is acting fairly childish for the most part.

My wife's depression seems to be responding to her treatment, but her diabetes is out of control, and her boyfriend finally has "woke up" from the sedation etc after his heart attack, and he thinks it's 1996. They've only been together for a year and a half. Hopefully he'll return to this century soon. They are talking about setting him up in a nursing facility in the Augusta area. Thats going to really mess things up for my wife. We'll see what happens.

Well, my wife's boyfriend is improving. He's responding to pain and to voices. He isn't responding to the neurologist though. I think he just doesn't recognize the voice. Hopefully he'll be out of ICU and into a regular room soon.
