Hello all, I have been out of touch for quite a while and feel that I should explain. I have cancer and am about to go under the knife for the first of several (6 maybe). I don't have any worries yet and expect none in the future. I ask only for positive thoughts directed my way. Thank you all for the time I have had here and I look forward to returning. Later, Keith

New Home for a bit

I have updated my profile to reflect a change in my 'hometown' for the near future. I am slightly closer to Palm Springs, Ca. than San Diego. This town of Winchester is in the French Valley area of the high desert, close to the town of Temecula.
I have spent the last two nights camped in the backyard of a new 4 bedroom home because this is the peak of the Persied Meteor display for this year. Tonight is expected to be the best of the week long display. Two of my sons, their wife and girlfriend and my grandson joined me this year. The youngest son was missing due to registration conflict and distance. This is the first time in 5 years for any of us to gather for the falling stars. I hope any that read this will try to enjoy this celestial lightshow.
I will be writing more soon, I have missed this and you that read me.

I have mentioned a business adventure and won't give reason for anyone to believe I am advertising here. I mention it here is as explanation for some of my truancy, there will be other posts for other reasons relevant.
I have started with all new equipment and will only buy new. My capital expenditure to date has brought the following to my door.
An iMac, Apple book, Canon MP530, Panasonic Lumix DMC-LS70, Belkin Wireless G, Simmons Capture View and a Razr V3m are the new items, the old stuff, other than the espresso pot are for the very basic in computing and net access.
This has been the easy part, I have found the Hell of bureaucratic indifference. Surprisingly, this is in abundance in a town dying for the lack of business income.
I am sad to say I have resorted to loud, insistent posturing in public offices. A City Manager was said to have left by a rear door rather than address my suggestion of responsible 'lunch hour' arrangements. 11am through 2pm tag team lunches are a hindrance to walking required papers through their system of silly mazes.
I do love a challange though. This has been one and may continue. Wish me peace, I do you.

Look to see me get back to posting soon. I have had some adventure in the world of business. Who knew that "I'll call you back!" meant so little to some in positions suggesting they are helpful.
I paper chase and a wild goose chase are only different in the goal, the track is the same. Onions tend to have fewer layers that are better defined.
I have had good response several times after asking about leased time on a departmental crystal ball. The 'folksy' approach works well because of my Southern drawl, even here in Georgia my Kentucky twang has value.
I have also been drawn into the maelstrom of greater consideration in another. This person is interesting, reads and may be a rare 'great friend'. I have an opening since Charlie died.
My family are all well and the divorce has been a success. I thank all of you that have shown me patience.

I do miss this part of my life. I have been and will continue to be busy with a new and expected part of life for a few more weeks. I have excercized patience and now must keep the focus on the details necessary to realize the 'dreams' dreampt during my recovery from medical repair.
Bear with me and think kind thoughts for others. I need only a little more time.

This is what happens around here the day after snow. Shirt sleeve weather and a light show. I think this was Mother Nature playing as if a young girl with a new dress. Keith

Well, it's official, I'm 55 and have just applied for my union retirement. I will begin a bit of travel in March or April.
I hope to have a schedule in a few weeks that has some flexibility to allow me to meet some of you. I will be traveling with a couple of my favorite knives along with other kitchen necessities. I would like to cook my way across the states before I go overseas.
Any suggestions?
Keith

I have survived the holiday season and got the best gift, a 2006 4x4 tractor with bucket loader. I expect to be busy for a few more weeks, so I'll see you later. Keith
ps. this reminds me of when I started work on the Gobi Forest!

Well, this is the season for giving and showing appreciation for what was gotten. I believe that the majority of my year is covered already and I will post on some not mentioned yet.
I am a divorced man now, Dec. 13th the final decree was signed and the judge was almost gratious enough to almost agree with having started our courtroom confrontation. We parted with what I considered to be a modicum of mutual respect. The clerk implied that he thought I might do well in 'the business' of law.
I was bitten(?) by a Brown Recluse spider 2 1/2 weeks ago and suffered blisters on my neck that covered an area on my neck that was larger than my hand and lasted just one week. My neighbors were impressed I didn't die. I am blessed with amazing recuperative abilities.
These are neither major world events nor would they make local mention. They are only highlights in one mans life 'in the sticks. I hope to write more of this hum-drum in the new year comming, drama is dangerous.
Peace, Keith
