Jean77f, you gave me the best laugh today with a comment you made about a comment made to you. I love your mind and the way you handle it. If I ever get in trouble, you are the one I want at my back, Bravo. I liked the jokes too! Keith

In general, but specific to Savanna2Play, I spoke to Mom about your open invitation to our family Holidays in the future. You are indeed welcome, though warned that showing shock at our interaction will definitly make you a target, in a loving, family way. We're never confused with the Cleavers family.
Mom also agrees that during party time she will suspend the usual 'Mistress' that normally precedes Mom if you will. It will probably save confusion of the grandchildren and great grandchildren.
The cursing problem can be handled by an agreement to warn of the necessity of a specific word prior to use.
No display of tattoos, piercings or pleasure devices one half hour before, during or one half hour after the party. The same prohibition is required for single and multiple participant sexual acts.
Smoking areas will be available. Drugs and alcohol are not suggested as a sharp mind will be required in all dealings with this bunch.
Cameras are welcome, voice recording devices may
not always be.

These were not really the result of a conversation with my Mom with the exception of the 'showing shock' part. The rest are just accepted good sense protocol for general public parties.

It's raining, I'm rambling. Quiz to follow. Nov 20, 2005 9:49 pm

A sip of water, a slow, positive inhale exhale exchange with lips pressed more tightly either side of center and off we go. Just like the last few public speaking efforts in college. I do love a good chat with any number of friends. This machine is new to me still, I have experience in years with flesh and pulp to guide me in relating facts, er transfering data.
Flesh will look or lean, color, tense, tap or nod. Visual cues of audience participation have as much to do with the story as the causitive circumstance that turned hum-drum to story in the first place. Monotone or relevant timber, tone and time are modulated microvoltage captured Tesla-esque and now WE share in the exchange.
Pulp is not a solitarty exercise as more than a few few ever suspect. My requirements are too flexible in a pinch and some day I would do well to attach myself to a near borderline compulsive to collect, compile, collate and make margin notes after a proper cogitate. A compendium could, sorry, I got carried away. I will write on anything but I have composition books that I have used for the past several years that I have not used in a month or so. This transition to machine has me at a terrible loss of the tactile pleasure I have had after having written. I touch the finished page or pages, press them between the opposing fingertips and palms and move across the impressions as though reading Braille. Concave, convex, peak, valley, indented and especially indentured are my marks for the world in the third dimension and only there. I have captured data and feel the proof that cybertech can't give me. That touch is every bit the electricity, though different from the thrill, of flesh.
This machine is, of course, not a machine except in only the extreme minimalist of consideration. The key functions and the switches and plugs on the monitor and box thing with the brain parts are mechanical and some of the mouse parts too. Again, here, in an amazing coincidence, is the electricity I found in flesh and pulp. Another draw that pulls data from me in a pleasing fashion unique in its own right. It has spellcheck and google with backspace and print page all over Websters Third and XM then MX for some or ----- for others. I never knew a diarist that used 'White-Out'. The bigger draw is an immediacy that rivals a time I had while writing a journal in the Navy that was as near a writer could have ever gotten before the WWW to spontaneous gratification. Word had gotten around to several dozen readers that I wrote daily. I had an audience that literally and literarily milled about, drinking my wine, playing as at a LeTrecque soire, bickering among themselves for a pecking order for the read, all overtly civilized; sailors at sea playing at the genteel life. It only now occurs to me that to have read aloud may have been a good idea. Nevermind though, there were never fights and each seemed to prefer his own time to absorb in his own head. The same can happen here by virtually everyone that cares and there is no line. I do miss the almost 100% give and take comments though. I did have pretty much a captive audience at sea, but I had about 90% attendance in port too. In 'homeport' there were far fewer of the constant, the core, even corps and they came to my home or we met on the beach a block and a half away with wine and joints.
The story of my data transfer history will rival 'No-Doz' for quite a few and they will never have gotten to this end point. Those that have, please tell me if your abilities and linguistic stylings are affected in changed media. Are the pros and cons in balance, how much of the past styles of relating do you still use and of that, do you find that most of those stories have not gotten or have yet to get to this 'machine audience'?

I'm back, and Mom says Hi! Nov 20, 2005 2:17 pm

Yeah, that's no typo, my mother knows and so do the rest of the family. After all the last minute shopping and preperation for our unusual pre-Thanksgiving get-together my family had a great time at Holiday togetherness. We ate very well and traded our stories of grateful thanksgiving, we basked in the warm glow of a family divided by miles drawn to a central table of mutual upbringing. We are a fun bunch that the proverbial 'monkeys in the barrel' fail to equal.
When all the dishes had been stacked in the dishwasher, leftovers wrapped and stored away, the coffee was served. What better time to show off my new pictures on my profile here on Alt. If you can imagine the scene in your own home, there were some expletives and a couple of gasps but no one moved away. Within moments there were giggles and outright laughs, this was just my profile, not anything else. I did not use this as a freak show for the family, it was presented with respect and I was the ONLY person they had any view of. My main picture was a hit and then the picture I used to crop that picture from was a real crowd pleaser judging from the verbal responses; that would be pic #2, the one with the chain.
Afterwards the discussion was rapidfire and a real treat. I lost count of the "Omigod"s of my youngest sister and only remember her promise to get in touch after she gets home and logs on to 'check out my blog'! It was a telling moment in our relationship when she left at the end of the evening with a kiss and a whispered, "And I thought you were boring, was I ever wrong!".
Before the breakup of the evening though my Mom had probably the best line of the night, "We have decided that this year for Christmas you are getting a leather collar and a really nice chain." Thank you God, I love the family I have and wish to share them with my friends in the Alt community. (Suzanne, I hope you tell Mom I said this!) Thank you friends, I really enjoyed the trip, the family and writing this. Oh, yeah, Mom really does say Hi! Keith

Scratch Menu Update Nov 15, 2005 9:03 am

Another round of 10 for you folks with hungers that seemed inspired by the first. My only complaint with this system is that I know I have not yet found all the posts that were responses to my original. I loved that there was such variety among the standards. You guys really are an inspiration and a source of unique cuisine. There were several mentions of a BDSM bar-b-que/cookout with a tongue in cheek suggestion that it may happen. I can only hope that if it does, I get invited, hell, I'll chain myself to the stove!

Salmon Salad
Salmon Patties
Stuffed Boneless Pork Chops
Broiled Lemon Fish
Queso Deally Joes (2nd Sons receipe)
Beer Steak (1st Son here)
Taquitos
Tomato Veggie Soup
Fridge Salad (3rd Sons offer)
Fried Rice

My next Update will have some Holiday favorites.

So, I got a little mad and, well, you'll see. Nov 12, 2005 10:12 pm

An unnamed person that always considered me a heathen sent me a rant from a 'preacher' that said New Orleans was targeted by God for hosting the annual Decadance Parade. If she read it I doubt she would have sent it to me or really understood it. In anger I wrote a poem she will never see. I am not preaching anything here, I am venting against ignorance of a group with their own study materials.

How dare you, mindless hypocrite
Befoul the mail with unlearned shit
You study not, nor care to do
The diligence required of you.
To pass as facts you do not know
A mad mans doctrine as though
Approved by God for my own good.
You never really understood
To beat the beads or kiss the ring
Hasn't ever meant a thing.
You have read the stories found
In the Book that's been around
Since God saw fit for those who wrote
Of Edens tree and Noahs boat
Moses and the rock he smote
And the many colored coat.
Solomon who's still thought wise
Babels' tower, the first high rise.
Consider too all Davids psalms
And reflect upon poor peoples alms.
Ten Commandments, read them here
And you'll just be getting near
To finding out what Jesus said
In the Book you maybe read
But didn't really understand
That Christian life can be so grand.
You have to study before you know
If what you read is really so.
I know you've tried and not learned much
When you send me stuff and such
As hate filled rabble rousing words
From pretentious donkey turds.
You demean youself and insult me
So start again and hear my plea.
If it isn't written in the Book
Better give another look
And find the courage written there.
Please try to really give a care
The words you pass are truly right
Because when you do you just might
Condemn your soul to endless woe
Remembering "I told you so."

Now what? Nov 10, 2005 12:26 am

I've been here a while, goofing in the magazine section, blogging about very very little pertinent to the 'alt' lifestyle and reading some only from the perspective of a tourist. I've really enjoyed the high inteligence and courtesy throughout and never made much movement toward a commitment or serious study.
Guess who has to get on board in a big way and why? Yeah, I said before you bunch were smart, me, and because I got offered a 'Webcam' meet.
What the devil is my job? I don't have a cam so it's not like I expect she figures we could work out a few square dance moves. I couldn't tell the difference between a Virginia reel and a Do si do, much less what passes as 'bare essentials' here. I am open to any and all suggestions, ignorance is curable. Laugh at me if you will, just drop a nugget as you giggle past, I'd like to not make a mockery of the offer by showing up stupid.
I also don't know how to make the arrangements for accepting the offer. When I clicked the 'Accept' bar I was informed that a firewall was preventing the action, even after I followed all the steps listed in the help section. I have XP and no idea what to do next. Is this enough to ask of you all? Thanks in advance, Keith

Picture Show Optional Nov 7, 2005 5:01 pm

I have had the pleasure of writing in my own blog a bit more lately, I do enjoy the majority of the experience. I suppose that is fodder for a future attempt at entertainment. Back on point though, I thought maybe some 'Show and Tell' may be due. The little pictures left of my blog don't allow a seperate descriptive that I would like to add. The abreviated post titles follow with short titles;

12 point-Sunset fishing
100 more-Blueberries I picked near my home
100-Tree by abandoned house
Promise-Son/Daughter-in-law
Just passin-Abandoned house
Meatballs-Nightfishing
Cook-Me giving cooking class
Ready-Fishing w/Nate
History-Son/Grandson
Cold-Creek by house
Day 2-My Driveway
Mind-Cooking class II

Not a great piece of work but I like to share.
