Do subs understand submission?

I am often mystified at the number of subs I chat with who don't seem to understand what submission is. They start giving out a wishlist of things they want, how they want it, where they want it, and when. The sub should realize that submission means just that...submitting to your dom/master/mistress. It is what the dom wants that defines the relationship and your service to them. I'm sure there are those that will disagree with me and that is your right. I don't say one should do anything and everything a dom wants if it is illegal, immoral or just plain disgusting, but to submit means to serve at his pleasure.
