The Southern California SPRING Fox Hunt! April 23rd!
Posted:Apr 2, 2016 5:10 pm
Last Updated:Mar 28, 2024 9:21 am
21053 Views
Date & Time: Saturday, April 23, 2016 ·10:00 AM – 4:00 PM

Location: Middle Lion Campground in the Los Padres National Forest
(about thirty miles north of Ojai)

Cost: Free to Members of LAPACC, $15.00 for non-members

Dress code: All pink bits covered, we are in a National Park, dress should be relatively Family Friendly.

Description:

The Southern California SPRING Fox Hunt involves 1-5 foxes attempting to run from our puppies, who track them and alert pony-rider teams when a fox is cornered or captured.

We want 1-5 confirmed foxes for the event. If you wish to be a fox, please contact me.

The foxes are released from their “den” at 11:30 am and given a 20 minutes head-start. They may go in any direction they like. Each fox has flags, representing scent; they must place the flags as they run. Each flag must be visible from another nearby flag. Foxes may double back, plant false trails, climb trees, hide, wait, cross streams, or do any other activity a fox would so long as they leave a clear trail for the dogs to follow.

The hounds follow the scent and alert the humans by barking. The ponies and “riders” follow the dogs. All humans will have hunting horns to call dogs to them if they spot a fox. If captured (tagged, pinned, or cornered by a hound), the fox will then be de-tailed by a human hunter.

Foxes have human Guides, to make sure that scent trail is planted and to oversee the Fox in case the animal role play enthusiast goes into head space. Pups have Handlers with them AND a Hound Master. The Ponies are on rein with the Hunters and with the Hunt Master.

Foxes wishing capture rituals, scenes, etc. must negotiate limits and desires before the Hunt begins. Remember the 7 Ps. Proper Planning and Preparation Prevents Piss Poor Performance. Stating your desire, limits, negotiating your scene before The Hunt, therefore, would be an excellent idea. I also recommend the Foxes each have a clear, solid plan for their strategy worked out and kept secret. The Pups are hungry to catch ALL of the Foxes this year, just sayin'

Stirrup Cup Awards are given at The Award Banquet Dinner (Date TBA)

Outstanding Hunter (with the most tail trophies)
Outstanding Hound (with the most Fox tags)
Clever (Live) Fos)
Nominated Awards

If you have been awarded a Cup, bring your CUP for the Toast at 11 am at The Hunt

Schedule for The Fox Hunt Day Event:

Check-in for participants is at 10 am sharp on Saturday. At 11 am we have our “Stirrup Cup:” the traditional toast to begin the festivities. The hunt begins at 11:30 am, and usually lasts 1-2 hours, with a potluck feast to follow.

Being a social event, The Hunt is followed by a pot luck dinner and toast.

Because this is a public event, please make sure all pink bits are covered; dress should be relatively family friendly.

Spectators are welcome to follow the Hunt and partake in the Feast; everyone is required to bring a potluck item.

We always leave our camp site in better condition than when we arrived. We will not tolerate littering.

Be prepared! Always bring more water than you need, emergency supplies, toilet paper, and bug spray. It’s better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it!

The Los Angeles Pony and Critter Club

The Los Angeles Pony and Critter Club is an adult role-playing group based in Los Angeles, California. We are an enthusiastic group of individuals dedicated to exploring the realm of pony, puppy, kitten, bunny and all other critter role-play scenarios. There may be adult themes in the website with reference to BDSM activities. We have permission to use all photographs on the site.

The L.A.P.C.C was started in February 2009 by Submissann (joint winner with Rebecca Wilcox of the 2009 Pony and Trainer Leather title), and currently has 168 members. We have regular play dates (for a chance to practice our role play), planning meetings (for business), socials ( for chatting and mingling), and events throughout the year, such as Derby Day, the Pony and Critter Jamboree, Western Day, and The Southern California Fox Hunts (Spring and Fall).

All pony and critters are welcome in the club as well as trainers and handlers. The diversity of the club enables us to exchange ideas and possibilities and to be welcoming to all individuals regardless of their level of involvement or interest levels. We have some unowned critters and trainers looking for their pets and we aim for all critters and trainers to get some experience in their role, so even if you do not have an owner or a pet you are very welcome in our club.

Please contact us if you are interested in any of our events, in the club, or if you have any suggestions for us!
