It is lovely to see you here on the ALT.com Magazine! We're looking to expand the scope of what you'll be seeing in the columns, and as we explore new directions, I am thrilled to present a fantastic way for you to get to know your fellow Kinksters!
The new "Featured Blogger" column kicks off with a nod to one of the "Go To Gals" of ALT.com: foulmama!
Foulmama is the force behind the blog [blog foulmama]
It was her nickname for the ALT.com blogosphere, "Bloglandia", which stuck among the initial group of us who started blogging here on ALT.com lo these many years ago. Well, 3 years, 7 months, and 23 days...but who is counting!
If you have participated in the annual "Bloglandia Birthday Celebration", you have [blog foulmama] to thank for that as well!
From her unpretentious approach, to her seemingly boundless energy and compassion for her fellow ALTers, [blog foulmama] has come to represent a great deal about what makes this site more than just a place to hunt the virtual landscape for prey.
I've had the pleasure of her acquaintance for several years here on ALT. She consistently demonstrates honor, and a willingness to serve the greater community.
One of the best resources on the blogs is her post [post 126640] Add to that her willingness run an emotional marathon to help a fellow kinkster in need, and you can see how she exemplifies service, dedication and thoughtfulness.
I am privileged to have had the opportunity to chat with her recently, and one of the things that we discussed was why blogging so intimately appeals to such a wide range of ALT folks!
"A lot of times people will post things on line they can't or won't discuss real time. I think that posting it might help, but it isn't the solution to solving ones troubles. I just hope that by interacting with them that eventually they can find the courage or whatever it is they need to get REAL help in the real world. I am sad to see people hurting, but always hopeful that they can find there way back."
When I asked about her happiest memory of Blogging on ALT, she had so many to share! But this I feel summarizes how deeply the Blogging community feels about this wonderful lady:
"I think one of the biggest memories I have... (and it still brings tears to my eyes) was when I was away from Blogs for about 6 months... I would sneak in and read. Over and over I saw posts asking where Mama was and hoping she would return. And when I did...WOW…"
