Too many people have a misconception about BDSM - more specifically, dominance & submission. It is NOT about kinky sex. And it isn't about gratifying one's ego. And it isn't about making someone do what you want them to do. My views of D/s are more medieval in nature - I believe that it is the role of the Dominant to ensure the well being (both mental and physical) of the submissive under His care. He serves as her guide, her protector. The submissive's role is to ensure that both her Dominant and herself are happy. The submissive ultimately has the most power because she cedes control to her Dominant - He does not take it. This is a key concept that is lost on many people.
