Its been over a year since I joined this site, and a lot has changed in that time, so I decided it was time to update my profile a bit. The biggest change between when I first joined Alt.com and now is I have met someone. If you want to find out more about him, his ID is _TopekaDom_ we also have a couples profile under _TD_n_huraiva. Since I am very happy with him, Im not currently looking for any other play-partners, though Im always happy to make friends.
When I first joined I had no BDSM experience. In my reading I found both Domme over male sub and Dom over female sub turned me on. My time with _TopekaDom_ has allowed me to explore my submissive side, and though there are parts I dont particularly care for, I enjoy most of it. One of my traits is an insatiable curiosity about most anything. In other words, I'm usually willing to try most things once. Because of this, Im certain I will explore the other half of my interests sometime in the future, but for now Im concentrating on the bottom half of the switch.
I love to dance, in fact if there is music playing, chances are I'm moving to the beat in one way or another. I'm currently learning bellydance. It is lots of fun, not to mention a great work out. I have been putting together a bellydance costume and once it is finished I will no doubt post some pictures of me in it. I have also studied ballroom dancing. Though I love to get out on the dance floor and just move, there is something about the formalized movements of the foxtrot or Cha-Cha that I just enjoy. Formal dancing can be seen as the man (who leads) dominating the woman (who follows his lead) while they dance. The man has total control of his partners movements while they are out on the floor. He decides how many times she twirls around, whether she moves backwards or forwards, which direction they move, everything about what they are doing while they are dancing. So ballroom dancing taps into my submissive side. What a wonderfully subtle way to enjoy dominance and submission while out amongst the vanillas. I enjoy all forms of dancing, from ballet to tap, from ballroom to belly dance. Not only do I enjoy dancing, I enjoy watching others dance, going to the ballet or watching an old Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers movie.
I love all animals (well except spiders cant stand spiders). When it comes to pets, Im predominantly a cat person (hence the feline children whose photos grace my profile). I have also had fish, though you cant really play with them, they are more just to look at and relax. I like dogs, preferring the larger breeds to the small ones, I just dont have time in my life right now for a dog. Cats are much more independent and require less work. I hope that at some point in the future I will have the time to share my life with a dog, for now its just Mr. Bear (TopekaDom), me and the cats. My cats are my children and non negotiable.
I enjoy cooking, often creating recipes based on what Im in the mood for. I dont eat beef or pork, but love poultry and sea food. I enjoy baking as well as cooking a meal and really like to cook with someone. I love chocolate, dark chocolate is the best. I tend to be picky when it comes to my coffee and tea coffee comes from the local coffee house where they roast their own beans. I buy it whole bean and grind it as needed, usually for French press in the morning served with half and half. Tea I buy whole leaf and have in the afternoons usually with cream, though if its herbal tea I drink it with honey. Im not a big fan of tea from tea bags or ice tea.
I love to work in my garden. I hate raking leaves and mowing, but planting flowers/herbs and watering and so forth gives a feeling of accomplishment. Its wonderful to look out at a spread of beautiful flowers and colorful foliage and know that you are the one responsible for the display. My garden is composed mostly of hosta lilies and coral bells, though I do have a silver mounds, heartleaf Brunnera, meadow rue, Japanese painted ferns and then Astilbe. I enjoy spending time outside and wish I lived somewhere more temperate that didnt get so hot and so cold. I like the wild birds and squirrels that make their home around my house. I usually have food in the feeders to attract them.
Rain is my favorite kind of weather. I love the sound of it as it strikes the ground, the way it makes the air smell, the feel of it on my skin, the way it makes the ground glisten with wetness and the sky a wonderful grey blue. On the other hand, I absolutely hate tornados. So a gentle rain shower, or even a magnificent thunderstorm, is great, but severe weather spawning twisting winds of destruction is liable to send me running for the nearest basement.
I love to read, and read a wide variety of books from romance to science fiction, from mystery to historical fantasy. Actually, reading is how I spend most of my free time. I dont really watch all that much TV, and prefer documentaries and movies when I do have it on. I used to watch the news regularly, but anymore it seems they dont talk about anything good.
My family is extremely important to me, and we have regular family get togethers that I generally attend. However, they have no knowledge of my interest in BDSM and I intend to keep it that way. On the other hand, most of friends do know about it, though none of my coworkers do. I tend to be a private person, so dont generally share this side of me unless Im close to someone.
When it comes to movies, I generally prefer action or science fiction, cant stand what most people refer to as chick flicks. I also enjoy old black and white movies, especially Cary Grant or Fred Astaire movies. My favorite movies, the ones that Im always in the mood to watch, are Star Wars (the original trilogy) and Lord of the Rings (any or all three of the movies). There are many other movies I enjoy, but those would be my favorites.
